"Hollywood Music Magazine"

“The music industry, regardless of genre seems to be emerging with new, talented, charismatic
artists left and right. A prime example would be Chris Young: The Rapper. Age is nothing but a
number, but at only 21 he is already a success among his peers and is collaborating musically
with the likes of Shwayze’s founder Cisco Adler.” - --

"RCRDLBL"

“Young raps about everyday hip-hop themes (success, touring, respect), but does so with a
light touch and a sense of humor.” - --

"The Deli"

“Chris Young’s delorean is humming in your driveway. You were trying to
make a fluffernutter sandwich, but you kept getting distracted by the funky
jams blasting from his windows at full volume. Now you’re dancing in your
driveway and all the neighbors are coming to join you. While so many
rappers are trying to build some crazy cybernetic future version of hip hop,
Chris Young is taking you back to 1991. The EP is a solid representation of
an early 90’s West Coast hip hop vibe. Funky, upbeat production matched
with witty and masterful lyricism make a great first impression that’s perfect
for either dancing in your driveway or if you’re just stuck in traffic.” - --

Bio

Chris Young The Rapper, from San Diego, CA, is a performer, producer, and songwriter that was born on July 30th, 1989. Young’s love for music truly took off in a Camden, NJ basement during the winter of 2001. While his DJ uncle spun tracks by the likes of Run DMC, LL Cool J, Jay Z, and T.I., Young tried his hand at freestyle rapping for the first time. The rhymes flowed naturally and the rest is history.

After a semester at the University of Arizona as a Philosophy major, Young decided instead to pursue his musical calling. He caught a ride to Los Angeles during the summer of 2008 with the vision of launching his hip hop career. With no money or a place to stay, a determined Young began booking his own shows, making his presence felt almost immediately. In September 2008, Young opened for Shwayze and Cisco Adler at the Rialto Theatre, in Tucson, AZ. Adler was blown away by Young’s impressive rapping skills and took him on a cross country tour with Shwayze, Tabi Bonney, Mickey Avalon, and more.

He released his project, Mood Swing EP, as a free download in April 2009 to critical acclaim. In August of that same year, Young signed to Cisco Adler’s Bananabeat Records, becoming the label’s premier artist. In January 2010, he released his mixtape 619 with Adler producing the opening single, “Stadium Rap.” Repping San Diego’s area code, the mixtape reflects Young’s hometown pride and showcases his smooth flow and fast rhymes.

Young contributed four songs to music man Adler’s epic 23-track mixtape, SUPERCALIFORNIALIPSTICKSEXYMAGICDOPESHIT (Supercali), collaborating with Cobra Starship in the process. He recently released his sophomore mixtape, Valuepack, full of clever lyrics and killer beats. Young has performed with a range of heavy hitters, from Kid Cudi and Mike Posner, to Ying Yang Twins and Three 6 Mafia.

Young recently released his debut EP 1991 on Bananabeat Records. The album, which captures the essence of hip-hop when rappers were rappers and a focused crew of artists dropped classic after classic, was presented by Cisco Adler and DJ Skee and features Del The Funky Homosapien and MC Wax.
