Bio

At some point in a band’s career you have to make a decision to persevere through the hard times and go forward or just quit! CHROMIUM personifies what courage, perseverance and an undying work ethic is. Originating from the sleepy South African town of Port Elizabeth, CHROMIUM made the big leap into the industry by relocating to the music capital of South Africa, Johannesburg, where they burst onto the scene with a massive presence and new energy that the people were craving.

The internationally renowned quartet has been together for five years. With numerous line-up changes and difficult challenges, the band has become a close knit family that is ready to take South African metal to the rest of the world. Being a household name in their home country already, CHROMIUM have taken their energetic and blistering live show beyond the seas to the United Kingdom and are confirmed for a European tour in the course of 2011.

With many chart topping hits on rock format radio stations, CHROMIUM’s sound is extremely recognizable as being their own sound and never imitating what is popular at the time. CHROMIUM was even chosen by the Roadrunner Records A&R team to feature on the major label’s website which showcases talent from all over the globe. After the success of this and the amazing response from fans, the band was asked to be interviewed on major formats such as 5FM, ETV Sunrise and The Volksblad newspaper.

CHROMIUM is currently touring their third album, nationally with plans to take it international once again in 2012. This is the follow up to the highly successful ‘Confessions Of A Hero’ promises to be a whole new sound with a mature approach while still sticking to their metal roots. The yet untitled album is set for an early 2011 release.
