"Christine call your bluff!"

“I call your bluff . . . Talk your stuff!” are the opening lines to Christine Charlemagne’s latest hit “Handle It” the ear-catching, foot-tapping, body-shaking Groovy Soca sensation released for Carnival 2K9, and there’s no doubt that this one’s an ear pleaser.
Not only is the rhythm just her fit, but her vocals, by her summation, have greatly improved since the release of her first track “Alone.”
And although she’s the one now boasting about “calling bluffs,” it was Mathias of rhythm house who first called her bluff when she initially talked her stuff about releasing a groovy Soca tune for Carnival 2K8.
And rightly so, because having been offered a position with Wezon after her very first interview with Mathias, Christine shyly turned him down—even though the offer was one she craved, crippled by the fear of how she would be received.
“The longing was there to sing. I knew it was something I really wanted to do, and I couldn’t let fear cripple me,” she admitted. So Mathias challenged me to it—releasing the song, and I guess the challenge worked.
That led to her first party release – “Alone,” which had her to face her fear before a sizeable crowd at RCI’s Piton Party in the Yard—and gained her an unexpected response.
“Last year, I was more than a little surprised at the reception I got for “Alone,” she said. “It was my first appearance, and as an unknown, I found the crowd to be pretty receptive.”
She continued to write and experiment with different forms of music, even holding a short gig as a stand in for the band Spektacle.
“I’m really hoping that one day I could do this full time,” Christine admitted. “Music consumes me. It’s like I’m always hearing melodies in my head.” - YO! Magazine

"R&B SPOTLIGHT: St. Lucia Artist - Chrycee!"

o doubt about it, Chrycee is a class act! For as long as she can remember music has been her life-long dream. Growing up with a DJ father, Christine Charlemagne, known in the entertainment circles as Chrycee was constantly exposed to music of all genres. From as way back as a tot—makeshift mic in hand!—she’d imitate the melodious voices of internationally acclaimed artists, glimpsing to and developing her obvious talent.
Years later, all grown up, Chrycee is realizing those dreams, bringing her unique flavour to the music industry as she writes and sings about life and love, capturing in her soulful and melodic compositions everyday life experiences. Passionate and motivated, Chrycee is a firm believer in the beauty of dreams and that anything is achievable once you set your mind to it and give your all.
Her musical journey began during her teenage years, singing solo at church, but it was not until July 2008, when she made her debut to the St. Lucian music arena that Chrycee knew she’d found her passion. It was obvious from then that she was one of St. Lucia’s up and coming sensational vocalists.
Since then, Chrycee has released six singles, which showcase not only her vocal range and soulful voice but her unique song-writing, versatility and wit, with releases ranging from R& B to Jazz and Caribbean Groove. Chrycee is now officially working towards the completion of her debut album.
But music isn’t her only love! By all indications Chrycee is an all-rounder total package of beauty, brains, wit and talent! She is inspiring, intelligent and innovative. Chrycee has an avid interest and love for theatre arts. In June 2012 she completed a certificate course with the University of the West Indies in Theatre in Arts Education and is part of a theatre focus group, YouthSpac. Equally passionate about education, Chrycee is also pursuing a degree in Banking and Finance, with the University of the West Indies.
Chrycee lives by two simple mantras: Determination and Perseverance and Little by Little One walks Far!
