Bio

The artistry of Chrystal Hill is a breath of fresh air in Christian music and the body of Christ.

At an early age, Chrystal's musical talent evolved naturally. Her earliest memories included services in Panama where her father, now a Superintendent in the Church of God in Christ, would preach following a song from the "choir" which consisted of she and her three siblings. Chrystal's abilities, however, extended beyond singing. She learned to play the drums, bass guitar, lead guitar, organ, and piano in her father's church, Burning Bush COGIC in Virginia, and it was there that she accepted her first responsibility as Minister of Music.

Chrystal continued to cultivate and share her gift in ministry in numerous capacities. While living in Memphis, she served as Minister of Music at Gethsemane Garden Institutional COGIC and Assistant Minister of Music at Faith Temple Ministries COGIC under Evangelist Barbara Jackson. She also was the director of youth and children's choirs throughout the Memphis area. As regional coordinator of the International COGIC Children's Choir, she composed for and directed thousands of children across the country. In 2001, Proverbs 18:16 proved true when Chrystal's gift brought her before great men as she sang the sermonic selection before the late Bishop G.E. Patterson's official message in the International COGIC Holy Convocation. Her debut song was "God's Been So Good," which was recorded with the Tennessee Fourth Jurisdictional Choir and has become a church and radio favorite.

Most recently, Chrystal directed the praise team and choir at Centennial Christian Church in St. Louis where her husband Reverend Larry D. Hill served as pastor. An elementary school teacher for over 12 years, she now teaches 1st grade and loves to work with young people of all ages. Her two sons, Dwan and Marcus, are students at Belmont University both majoring in music.

Chrystal is often heard saying, "It's not about me; it's all about Him." Truly, her goal is to share Christ with as many people as possible, whether it be through music, exhortation, or simply a bright smile.

Look for her song "All About You" to be featured on "CeCe Winans Presents PureWorship!" to be released July 31st, 2007!
