"Chuck Fenda in high demand"

He delivered an incendiary performance recently during fellow artiste Bush Man's stage show in St Thomas. Attired in a dapper full suit of blue jeans, he hit the stage about 1:45 a.m., and immediately ignited the crowd with his hit, Warning. Then he segued into his most recent chart hit, It Hard, and the 4,000-strong crowd sang along word for word. Warming up to the crowd, Fenda then blazed a medley of his hits such as Gash Dem, I Swear and Cry for My People.

CHUCK FENDA - The Living Fire

Early Life and Career Debut
Rastafarian reggae star Chuck Fenda was born Leshorn Whitehead on June 15, in Brooklyn, New York. He always had a special love for music, and a hobby of impersonating some of his favourite entertainers as a youngster. It didn't take him long to decide to pursue his dream in the music business.
Between the years 1995 and 1996, he frequently travelled between Jamaica and New York to hone his deejaying skills. Having met and being guided by some of the top producers and performers of that era, he was persuaded to return to Jamaica and in 1997 released his breakthrough single, “Jah It’s All About You” under the tutelage of the legendary King Jammy. He spent most of his time at King Jammy's studio where he released top singles such as “Shut Yuh Mouth When Bad Man Talking”, “Mi See It Clear”, “Badda Badda” and “Lift It Up” which received high rotation on the local airwaves.
In 2000, he joined the Fifth Element Records family where the real revolution began to take place in the DJ's musical career. He became famous for singles like the number one “Life Ruff Out Deh”, “I Swear” as well as “Can't Stop Try”, “Respect Mama” and “How You Feel”. These selections formed a part of his explosive awe-inspiring album ‘Better Days' on the Fifth Element label that was released in 2005.

In March 2007 he release his definitive album titled ‘The Living Fire’ on the Green Sleeve Label which included tracks such as “Gash Dem”, “Gwan Plant”, “Freedom of Speech” and “Coming Over” featuring Cherine Anderson. The combination single, was one of the biggest hit in 2007, topping charts world wide and firmly establishing Chuck Fenda as an household name.

Third Album Release Slated For October 2009
In 2009, Fenda went on to release yet another lyrically charged 15 track album titled “Fulfillment”. His third full length album featured hits such as “I Am For The Poor , “Bad Boys” featuring Sammy Dred and Herbalist Farmer. After this album was released, Chuck Fenda took a break from doing music to form his own recording label Living Fire Records and his own booking agency “Living Fire Booking Agency”.
The slated release of his third album “Fullfilment” in October 2009. Produced by Kemar McGregor (Flava), Shane Brown and Marvin; it is identifiably the most spiritual album from the artiste to date. Characterised by collaborations with like-minded artistes such as I-Wayne on the track “Thin Line”, “Bad Boys” with Sammy Dread and “Time Rough” featuring Bush Man. Heavy airwave rotation of tracks contained on the album include “Herbalist Farmer” and “Cold Fi Di Money”. Fans and musical interests will be treated to the lyrical versatility, positive tracks as well as much food for thought as is expected from Chuck Fenda.
In 2010 he returned with the critically acclaimed ‘Good Man in Your Life’, produced by Donovon Germaine, while ‘Call on Me’, his second collaboration with Cherine Anderson became a radio hit in Jamaica, and did well in the European marketplace, which brought Chuck Fenda on a European Tour. In 2012 he recorded his as-yet-untitled album which will be released later this year. The album was recorded producer ‘John John’, son of veteran producer King Jammy, with current hits such as “Warning”, “Hustle”, “Bun Up”. Chuck Fenda has currently released several singles “It Hard” on the digital love Riddim in 2012, “No Detour”, “So Many River”, “Nah play with them”, and more in 2013.

Musical Style and Mission
Having introduced himself to the music scene as conscious and spiritual, he has been working ever since at establishing himself as a strong force in Jamaica’s musical tapestry. Embracing the Rastafarian way of life, he has been dubbed within the entertainment industry as the ‘Poor People Defenda' and remains focused on creating heartfelt lyrics about the plight of the poor and current affairs. His “Afromantic” character of glorifying black women was revealed in the Living Fire album released in 2007 by Greensleeves Record. This album featured his collaboration with Cherine Anderson on the hit single “Are You Coming Over Tonight” which quickly rose to #1 on the local charts and remained on the Top 30 for 26 weeks.
