"MUSIC: INTRODUCING: GET SOME CHUPA CABRA IN YE"

Welsh born three-piece, Chupa Cabra make proper post punk noise. They've got a musical sound/image we're 100% into and you should be too.

This hungry trio will release their newest single Mouths to Feed on August 22nd, in cassette format, for all your listening pleasure. The title track is raw and melodic; spitting out the kinds of thrills that define live music. Play it loud and you'll get the sensation of being at a gig in your bedroom. You might even want to punch something.

The track's driving drums are matched by an enticing bass. Layering thick and distorted guitar catapults the track's sing-a-long vocals onto another planet. An inevitable guitar solo comes about two thirds of the way in, with it's exuberant intro leading into a catchy verse, laden with thrash and noise. Mouths To Feed takes elements of classic punk-rock and smoothes it out with some post-punk track swagger. It's the perfect addition to anyone's weekly playlist.

The second track off the single, All I Know, is an instant hit. We can imagine it played live: the crowd jumping along to it's energetic and exhilarating chorus. With it’s blues inspired lead guitar and consistently smooth bass, All I Know makes for a disgustingly upbeat track which will turn you into the riot that you truly are.
This track is groovy and distorted (yet traditional) garage punk - the kind that inspires the most gruesome of dance moves. Chupa Cabra will release All I Know as B-side to the Mouths To Feed single. Released 22nd of August, with Blak Hand records.

"Discovery Of The Week: Chupa Cabra"

With a name like Chupa Cabra, the last place you’d be expecting this three-piece garage-rock band to be from is North Wales. Who knew dark and damp Wales could summon connections to the warm and dry lands of Latin America. And maybe North Wales doesn’t immediately scream “awesome garage punk” but Haydn Hughes screams his best on new single ‘My Girl’.

The 3-piece have just released their debut single on Too Pure Singles Club for the whole wide world to hear. Too Pure releases singles and splits from some of the best artists around, working with bands from Pulled Apart By Horses and The Crookes to Menace Beach and Best Friends – an incredible track record.

‘My Girl’ is whirlpool of crunching guitars, I feel like my teeth are rubbing against gravel but it’s exhilarating. Hughes shouts “my girl is gonna split your brain in two!” in the vein of Andrew Savage of Parquet Courts, but with such a confused air of uninterested conviction that even Savage would envy. The wall of angry guitars and crashing drums never seems to cease, a copious “tinnitus-inducing” sound from these boys that can’t be ignored. Grab yourself a copy via Too Pure or pre-order from Rough Trade here.

My Girl is released via Too Pure Singles Club on the 22 January.

"CHUPA CABRA BRING THE HEAT WITH ‘MY GIRL’"

There’s a breath of fuzzy fire coming from the Welsh dragon this morning in the form of garage rock boys Chupa Cabra and their newest track ‘My Girl’ – released on Too Pure Singles Club – a punk splattered thump in the head.

Not quite your typical love song the track rages through guitar parts to allow the punching lyrics to get their eye in. “My girls is gonna lay her eggs in you” and other gems punctuate the track with its signature shots to the vein.

The song rages on without a moments breath. Have a boss who is trying to be the king of assholes today? You need this song in your life. - Far Out Magazine

"Fuzzy North Wales rockers Chupa Cabra air their garage-punk cut “My Girl” [Premiere]"

Despite the title, this isn't a track dedicated to the loves of Chupa Cabra's lives, hopefully, with the opening gambit of "My Girl is gonna lay her eggs in you..." bringing far more Alien-esque images to mind. Romantic? Probably not. A blistering jaunt through raw-nerve, skinned-knee rock'n'roll? You betcha.

The North Wales trio will release "My Girl" as part of the Too Pure Singles Club on 22 January.
