Lyrics

Stay The Night

Written By: Ciaran Flynn

I’m glad it’s come to this
A complement, a cautious kiss - And now I,
I don’t know what to do.
I think I’ll give that drink a miss
Ye know I don’t live at this address - I’m trying to hide
These feeling I have for you.

Is it alright to stay the night, stay the night?
Because we won’t last long unless we try.
To stay the night, stay the night?
Because we won’t last long unless we try.

I wish that you’d make up your mind
I didn’t take you for the kind to try
And leave a man confused
I know that I’m not your fist guy
I don’t believe that you are shy – but I
I want to be with you.

Is it alright to stay the night, stay the night?
Because we won’t last long unless we try.
To stay the night, stay the night?
Because we won’t last long unless we try.

I’d say that now is not the time
For idle talk and sipping wine - The night
Is closing in too soon.
You disappear to get undressed
And you leave me out here to guess – If I
Will wake up in your room.

Is it alright to stay the night, stay the night?
Because we won’t last long unless we try.
To stay the night, stay the night?
Because we won’t last long unless we try.

[Outro]
You leave me hanging on
You keep me holding out
You never let me know
What you're thinking about

I was only trying
To push my luck that one time
It ran out with you that night,

It wasn't alright
To stay the night
To stay the night.

Girl Living In New York City

Written By: Ciaran Flynn

Take the L train out of third
Off in Williamsburg
And meet me

On Bedford Avenue
It’s ok if you’re late,
I’ll wait for you

‘cos Brooklyn’s jut like home to me
said a girl living in New York City
In the Manhattan madness
Avoiding the streets that may lay her dreams to rest

A toned cathedral bell,
Just like Suzanne said
From Tom’s Diner

We roamed the campus lawns
Staking out the dawn
‘til a shadow ran around the sundial

‘ye know this place once was home to me
said a girl living in New York City
In the Manhattan madness
Avoiding the streets that may lay her dreams to rest

A street performer, he laughs
And sings straight through the cracks
In own songs

In Washington Sq. Park
We watched and you took part
You even sang along

‘ye know this place could be home to me
said a girl living in New York City
In the Manhattan madness
Avoiding the streets that may lay her dreams to rest

So what became of the painting unframed,
That orphaned scene?
Is it still alive in your dreams?

And who’s to blame for the way you played this game
And how you hid
On the other side; on the other side of Brooklyn Bridge.
It’s not home, it’s just the other side; just the other side of Brooklyn Bridge.

Fabulous People

Written By: Ciaran Flynn

Fabulous people you know,
They greet you hight but they leave you low
Though you’ve done nothing wrong; you’ve done nothing wrong

The trend and crowd you befriend,
The stick around but they leave in the end
When something better comes along; something better comes along

It’s at this time you ask that I come around
..this time you ask that I come around
..this time you ask that I come around
When you’re falling, falling straight to the ground.

The fabulous place you frequent,
Its not so great now your money’s all spent
Just you & your phone; you and your phone

And the films you attend,
Just not the same when you have to pretend
that you’re not alone; you’re not alone

It’s at this time you ask that I come around
..this time you ask that I come around
..this time you ask that I come around
When you’re falling, falling straight to the ground.

You can’t miss that show,
They let you down but you know that I’ll go
Like I’ve done before; I’ve always done before

And once through the door,
You look around to see who you can adore
You lieave me ignored; I feel ignored

It’s for this time you ask that I come around
..this time you ask that I come around
..this time you ask that I come around
When you’re falling, falling straight for the ground.

That fabulous party last night,
I stayed in waiting for your invite
But it never came; no it never came.

Something doesn’t feel right,
You wake strange man by your side
But you don’t know his name; you don’t know his name

And it’s for this time I wish that I’d be around
..for this time I wish you’d asked me around
..this time I wish that I’d be around
To stop you falling; falling straight to the ground.

I’d stop you falling, falling straight to the ground.
