Ciara's influences range from Billie Holiday to Alicia Keys, and as diverse as JJ Cale and Fat Freddys Drop. Her individual style is a smooth blend of sweet, soulful, lifting crafted songs with jazzy tones and crystal clear vocals. Songs with identifiable themes, which the listener can easily relate to, whilst simultaneously being taken on an enticing musical journey.
Previously seen as a member of Sumu (www.myspace.com/sumuband) always challenging always innovative, collaborator and co-songwriter Niwel Tsumbu (www.niweltsumbu.com) was the driving force. This group's 1st gig was supporting Malian diva Oumou Sangare from there they went on to play with Irish favourites Kila, Massive Attack collaborator Horace Andy, reggae legends The Wailers, Londons' Reel People, New Zealand favourites Salmonella Dub and Cork heroes John Spillane and Ger Wolf.
