Ciènega

Ciènega

BandAlternativeClassical

A Mexican project that is different from the actual musical scene in our country. Influenced mostly by European projects. An instrumental merge of melodic post-rock and neo-classical elements.

Biography

Ciènega is a Mexican project that explores different musical genres while maintaining a strong post-rock tendency. Influenced mostly by international projects like Olafur Árnalds, Sigur Rós, Mogwai & Balmorhea, this group from the city of Morelia, continues on their constant search for developing new proposals of honest music, free from the musical industry trends in Mexico. After years of hard work, since 2010, Ciènega has managed to become a music band formed by a group of young mexican musicians/music lovers that found friendship in their bandmates just after finding the musical motiv that goes beyond each of their personalities.

Ciènega as an imaginary managed to make friendship through music, and with it, to ultimately represent the great potential and versatility that exists in our country.
