Feeling a bit camera shy

Cinder was born in Los Angeles, California and moved to Santa Barbara with her family when she was ten years old. After many years on the road she has returned to make Santa Barbara her home again.

Cinder is Currently playing in a female Duo with singer/songwriter Kate Bennett. Cinder and Kate have been working together for two years now and are steadily working towards making a CD together! Both are strong songwriters and teamed up together after meeting at a "late night' song circle.

Robert and Cinder played music together for about ten years. They played a wide variety of music ranging from Pop, Folk, Country, Jazz, R&B, and Originals. A few short years ago they gave up their lives on the road to pursue their own original careers in music. Cinder has now released her new CD "Strands Of Time" which covers the past ten years of her life on the road, The heart aches of love and the joys and sorrows of life.

Cinder grew up listening to many folk artists such as Joni Mitchell, Carol King, Karla Bonoff, Judy Collins, Carly Simon, Shawn Colvin, James Taylor, Neil Young and the list goes on. Cinder began writing her own songs when she was a young teenager. She studied voice for several years with vocal coach "Arthur Francis Joseph" in Los Angeles California. Cinder began playing Piano at age eight and Guitar at age ten. Later, she became interested in playing Harmonica and also Native American Indian Flute.

Since the end of Nightshades, Cinder has studied jazz voice at the University Of North Texas and is currently majoring in commercial music at Santa Barbara City College. Cinder is also a Guitar and Voice Instructor specializing in teaching children and adults as well. Currently her days are spent writing new songs, revising old songs and preparing for new horizons.
