I have come across a local band "Polaris" who have recently completed a full length CD, and are currently playing out and seeking a deal. I can only describe them as a cross between prog-rock and nu metal, kind of a King Crimson meets Linkin Park mix. Their sound is unique with amazing guitar work, a great rhythm section, and insightful lyrics. I haven't heard the full length yet, but have given their 3 song CD demo a good listen, and believe that with the right exposure, that they can go far.
I will be meeting with some of the band members next week, and hope to set them up with a couple of instore in early November.
If you are approached by them for consignment purposes, I strongly suggest that you consider bringing them in, and feature them in both instore play and in your discretionary listening stations. You can check them out at polaristheband.com. I'll follow this up with an email after meeting with them next week, and let you know when they might drop into your store to talk consignments...

CINDER RED is from Southern California with a desire to bring back the significance of the lead guitar and complex song writing with dynamic vocal passages, seamless bass lines, and high energy percussion.
The band's similarities would be... (we'll name a few here) A Perfect Circle, Tool, One Side Zero, Incubus, Hoobastank, Puddle of Mudd, Bush, Pressure 4-5, and certain bands who might follow in that type of genre. If you like these bands you will have a great interest in CINDER RED.
A little history might say that Randy Ramirez (lead vocals/lead guitar) and Rocky Ramirez (drums) have known each other for a long time. This is true, because they are brothers. Biologically too. Most songs.
The first full-length CD, Imperial, was recorded in late 2004 and released in January of 2005. It is available at cdbaby.com/polarisband or Tower Records in southern California. It was a great experience to compile and arrange our music.
Following the release of our CD, we entered another contest, Disc Makers' Independent Music World Series. Our song, "Writings on the Wall" was selected as one of the top 16 in the Western States by A&R reps from Taxi. It was included on a Compilation CD.
