“Cindy Ashton’s performance was breathtaking. The talent and overflowing passion she exuberates, demands attention and moves you emotionally. Her life journey through trials and tribulations from which she draws, is fit for a feature film. Cindy is simply a ‘must see’ artist worthy to perform on any stage.”

Bio

With a rich voice that delights the ears, ignites the soul and inspires beauty, Cindy Ashton is a radiant performer on the rise. After 15 years of performing on stage and in film, Cindy has now released her debut CD, Don't Rain on My Parade. The album features fresh interpretations of 11 jazz and Broadway standards. This is no ordinary recording, but the extraordinary culmination of a dream over 20 years in the making!

The album also includes Cindy’s original song “Butterfly” – an inspiring tribute to all children facing health challenges - drawing on her own experiences of childhood illness and recovery. Born with only a 20% chance of survival, Cindy has continually beaten the odds by refusing to accept any of life's limitations, and never letting anyone, or anything rain on her parade!

Where did it all begin? For as long as she can remember, Cindy has always been an entertainer. As a young child, she would put on sequins, dim the lights and start the music. Next? Gather up her family as her audience of millions! Cindy’s passion to perform has never ceased, leading her to study extensively as a singer, dancer and actor with many top entertainment professionals.

Highlights include training full time as a triple threat at Randolph Academy for the Performing Arts and completing an apprenticeship programme with Livent of Canada (producers of Phantom of the Opera & Les Miserables) in which she worked closely with Nancy Ford (NYC soap opera writer/composer) and Jason Robert Brown (Broadway composer).

A person who loves to push boundaries of what is possible, Cindy boasts a four-octave range that can cross over between popular and classical styles. Her versatility has led her to sing everything from opera to jazz, pop to Broadway and act on TV and stage. Beyond just a singer, Cindy Ashton is an entertainer with a spunky personality, a striking presence and a joyful spirit that draws in an audience every time. Her energy, passion and diversity are truly inspirational!

In addition to performing, Cindy holds an Honours degree in Music and Kinesiology, and is an accomplished educator, inspirational speaker, and published author.

Recent appearances include: Toronto TV, The Body, Mind, Spirit Show, Chin Radio and CityTV’s Breakfast Television. In April she will be the featured artist on 93.3 FM’s “The Artist’s Lifestyle.”
