Bio
It began at a wedding. Circa's first gig. However, it wasn't the sheer determination not to become a wedding band, but the rush of adrenaline playing to a heard of drunken, dancing, fun loving people that prompted them to make a life changing decision. To leave their careers in finance, marketing, marine biology and medicine, leave their girlfriends and family, and leave the Australian summer to pursue the rock'n'roll dream that had welled inside each of them: living, drinking and playing music in Ireland.
The investment was high, but so was the determination so they secluded themselves in the small gaelic speaking seaside town of Spiddal and developed, crafted and perfected the Circa sound, repetoire and image. Afterall Ireland is a bloody long way to come not to give it 100%.
Relocated in the city of Dublin, they are now packing the calendar and playing live shows, building a crowd, trying to impress all those they play for and above all just trying to have fun.
Musically, Circa concentrate on having great melodies and backing them with a big beat, rock guitars and even distorted piano. They offer multiple vocalists and work with harmonies and layered vocal melodies to provide a unique sound in the current musical landscape.
It could be the major risk they've taken or their vision in not following an ordinary life that makes their music so unpredictabe and unique or maybe they're just down right crazy. Well maybe, but when you hear the music you know it's kind of in a good way.
