Bio
CiRcUs MiNoR was formed in October 2001, playing shows around the Los Angeles area, including an opening slot for Interpol at The Troubadour. Shortly after, the band made a significant sonic change, adding keyboards with Julie Dicterow for a departing guitar player.
In April of 2003, drummer Adam Alt went on tour with S.T.U.N., and Daniel played bass for Metric on a west coast tour. On the road with Metric, Daniel met Ryan Hadlock, producer-engineer for Steven Malkmus, Blonde Redhead, Modest Mouose, and The Black Heart Procession. Shortly after, CiRcUs MiNoR headed to Woodinville, WA to Bear Creek Studios to record with Ryan.
Upon returning to LA, the band played shows for The Fold at The Derby and The Silverlake Lounge, including a December residency at The Silverlake Lounge.
In March of this year, CiRcUs MiNoR was invited to play The Concert for Compassion, and is currently continuing to play to crowded audiences at Spaceland. They also recently recorded a new 5-song demo in San Pedro with Jim Wood of Dishwalla.
CiRcUs MiNoR has a wide range of influences, including, The Talking Heads, PJ Harvey, The Doors, & The Cure. Their sound could be described as moody and ethereal.
