It's rare that a new Dublin band are worthy of a review, and even rarer worthy of a glowing review.
Citizen, a self-described "powerhouse three piece" and in fairness to them they do not disappoint.
Led by Danny McConnell and Dave Sayers, who both take turns as lead singers, Citizen are an immensely powerful three piece complete witj a welter of killer songs, oozing melody and magic.
McConnell and Sayers' vocal mix at times so well that there seems to be more than the two of them belting out on stage.
Their debut single "You Dont know my name" is a two and a half minute belter about unrequited love and lusy while "C'mon Go Rising" is a spurned lover's repost to those who have rejected them. All of this done in very catchy tunes. Powerful stuff from a group
only formed within the last 6 months.

Citizen are a powerhouse three-piece with an intense melodic edge. The bands combination of hard hitting, groovy, Rock'n'Roll and wide dynamic soundscapes, has already attracted national press attention. Formed in the early days of 2008, and hailing from South Dublin, the band have been busy recording their eagerly anticipated debut EP.
Led by the dual vocals of Danny and Dave, Citizen's power is in the collective strength of its part when combined. Danny and Ben are as hard stomping and solid a rythem section as you are likely to see while Dave's guitar playing has already garnished distinction in Dublin's music scene.
Their pacy beats, adventurous musical landscapes and racey lyrics in combination make for a powerful combination on record or live on stage
