Bio

Citizen Sage is an independent rock group from Minneapolis, Minnesota. Composed of four Twin Cities natives, they recorded their first demo in late 2007. Since then they have played over 17 shows locally and developed a dedicated following in the Minneapolis scene. After almost a year in production, Citizen Sage released their self-titled debut on April 30, 2009, performing for a packed Fine Line Music Cafe in downtown Minneapolis.

Their national non-commercial radio campaign ran through the summer of 2009 and landed them at #16 on the CMJ Top 200 Adds Chart on July 14th. They have also garnered some attention in commercial radio with Cities 97's Jason Nagel raving: "Citizen Sage is the Twin Cities next 'must hear' group." They have seen charting rotation on more than 30 radio stations nationwide and are currently working on promoting their music regionally with goals of touring nationally during the Summer and Fall of 2010.

Citizen Sage's debut release plunges the listener headlong into a hard rocking, blues based, folk studded stupor. The tracks on their album are live and tape cast- dismissing the digital doctoring techniques prevalent in rock music today. There is no auto-tune on their vocals; no metronome in their ears. They are focused on an organic, living sound. Citizen Sage was recorded at the Terrarium Studio in Minneapolis and was entirely self-produced.
