Citoak

 Cincinnati, Ohio, USA
SoloHip HopSoul

Citoak seems to have found a balance between the lyrical focus that hip hop heads crave and a sound that the casual listener can still gravitate towards. The simplest way to describe it is, beats and rhymes.

Biography

As a founding member of the legendary underground group Watusi Tribe, Citoak has solidified himself as an exemplary lyricist within Cincinnati's hip-hop scene and has graced stages from New York to Atlanta with some of hip hop's elite (The Roots, Talib Kweli and Killer Mike to name a few). If his towering stature doesn't garner attention or distinguish his individuality from the pack, his ability to rock mics will. To put it quite simply, in every measure, this guy's mere essence is a commanding force. Presence is more than just how to make a memorable impact. Although it certainly embodies those characteristics, presence doesn't aim to get others to notice its existence, you just do. Whenever Citoak rhymes, his baritoned vocal styling resonates through the sonic sphere with purpose, talent and skill. Couple that ability with superior lyricism, demonstrated experience, intelligent subject matter, plus a banging stage show and you have the makings of a MC highly esteemed by any who experience his gifts. His next project "Delayed Arrival". due out April 2014 displays that his passion has not wavered nor has his hunger.

Lyrics

Get It

Written By: Jarmell Carson

You gone feel this in your chest
The depths that I'm reaching
Will penetrate your vest
Meter peeking when I'm speaking
Invoke the inner Elohim
Stimulate your team to get a bigger better dream
Fill the streets with verbal feigns
No question
Im Following the path that I'm destine
Left or right turn tires squeal rubber burns
Citoak I'll make the devil choose another target
Never selling my soul to get a portion of the market
From the 513 Nasty Nati in the O H I O
WHere the motto is survival
Hot blocks crooked politicians dirty cops
Haters hustlers and strugglers all in the same spot
Fighting to get a leg up but never giving up
Where the meek get mutilated
The gritty don't give a fuck
Where the push comes to shove
The shove turn to swinging
The swinging turn to bullets
And the fat lady singing
Cause it's over
Like the 31st of October
Niggas tricking for treats
Suckas grovel like Grover
For Slick chicks
That make dicks
Rise like biscuits
Flip scripts
And leave them lames
Looking like misfits
Handle my business
Like e double and parish smith
Milking it for all it's worth like
A double D pair of tits
In this scenario
I'm singing hi ho the Derry O
In high fidelity stereo
At your burial
I stand 6'5"
Spit live
Split hides
Dip dip dive
Socialize
Man
The flow is rip tide

Give it to them till they
Get it Got Good
give it to them till they
Get It Get It Got It Got It Good
give it to them till they
Get It Get It Got It Got It Good
give it to them till they
Get It Get It Got It Got It Good

They don't even know why their running
Never saw him coming
Heat from when he speak
Feel like somebody broughtthe sun in
Use the full force of my weight
Leaving Tiamat imprinted
And your train of thought changed
Like a paragraph indented
I'm a rebel with a purpose
Utilize verses to try to reverse
These curses that
Filling prisons and hearses
The struggle is hard enough
Because of the melanin
So I gotta give my all
Can't fed ex and mail it in
Play the game the win
4th quarter 4th down
9th inning last out
Few seconds final round
With this mic I'm
A sniper with a rifle and a scope
Change your life with every round
That I fire from my throat
I Aspire to inspire
Before the end fire
Charging hearts
Like defib paddles
And live wires
At close range
Let that thang bang
Change your brain frame
From sleeping to seeking
to reaching
A way to maintain
My main vein
Pumps an alien
narcotic strain
Out of this world Dope
Is the only way to explain
What it is
Making the people feel it
Like a bug on the wall
They screaming for me to kill it
So I put my weight on it
Big table with my plate on it
Apologies that you had to wait on it
LETS GO

Give it to them till they
Get it Got Good
give it to them till they
Get It Get It Got It Got It Good
give it to them till they
Get It Get It Got It Got It Good
give it to them till they
Get It Get It Got It Got It Good
