Anne-Marie Hildebrandt with Citrine

Anne-Marie Hildebrandt is a singer/songwriter, arranger, and multi-instrumentalist based in Salt Lake City, Utah. She graduated with a BM in Piano Performance from The Juilliard School. After spending her childhood and early adulthood as a classical pianist, she began exposing herself to folk, jazz, rock, and especially Irish music, learning to play numerous instruments and improvise fluently. This lead to the development of her considerable skills as a songwriter and arranger, where the marks of all her musical influences may be heard.

Anne-Marie has published numerous choral arrangements and original works, both independently and through the major publisher of choral music, Hinshaw Music. Her arrangements have received acclaim and popularity in Utah and abroad, with several of her songbooks bestsellers in local music stores such as Day Murray Music and at well-known online distributors such as Plum Publishing.

Anne-Marie performs regularly with her choir, Citrine and their band in and around Utah. Notable recent solo performances include an appearance in May, 2008 with singer Bobby McFerrin at New York City’s Carnegie Hall, as well as eight performances in November, 2008 as a featured performer in Carnegie Hall’s Musical Explorers series.

Ms. Hildebrandt has also been active as a music educator since her college years. She has taught numerous private students in voice, piano, ear training, and the Irish fiddle, and was an ear training teaching fellow while a student at Juilliard. Following graduation, she became a full-time ear training faculty in the ear training department of The Juilliard School Pre-College Division. She is currently involved in a project entitled Juilliard Discoveries, which will introduce music to pre-schoolers through a series of educational DVD’s.

Anne-Marie has recorded on a number of albums over the course of her career so far, including the first track on the New York TImes/Discovery Channel documentary soundtrack, Portraits of Grief and her 2007 release of spiritual songs, At Jesus’ Knee. A new CD involving Citrine is in progress, showcasing original and Celtic songs, with a release date set of June 12, 2009.
