""Seriously, this is a fun band with a big sound. Turn up the volume and play your best air guitar.""

The Toronto rockers are apparently under siege in this video, but prove too much for their would be assailants. Why? because they rock HARD. Seriously, this is a fun band with a big sound. Turn up the volume and play your best air guitar. - The DaDaDa (US)

""That`s definitely some quality mischief in the production department, menacingly hook heavy and deliciously soulful""

Only came across this Canadian band this afternoon, grab a few listens and check out the fuzzy guitar riff in your left hand speaker – That`s definitely some quality mischief in the production department, menacingly hook heavy and deliciously soulful. The lead single `Strange Feeling` is out now on a free download, the forthcoming EP entitled `Action Figures` is due out in 2013 – The A to Z of excellent Hamilton bands has just got one line longer. - Mojophenia (UK)

""Rock n’ Soul is here to stay, and is going to inject a new kind of life into the Toronto music scene.”"

“The Rolling Stones brought R&B into rock music, and City and the Sea are masterfully following in their footsteps. Rock n’ Soul is here to stay, and is going to inject a new kind of life into the Toronto music scene.” - Toronto Examiner

"“Fool’s Union” is a good place to start, especially if you’re a fan of bands like the Trews and Priestess.”"

“Soulful Hamilton band with a record called Leave a Light On. “Fool’s Union” is a good place to start, especially if you’re a fan of bands like the Trews and Priestess.” - Alan Cross, Exploremusic.com

""Almost every time I listen to the songs off this EP I feel like I am listening to a modern classic rock song.”"

“They are complete badass rockers you can’t help, but want to sing along with them as though they are “already rock anthems.” Almost every time I listen to the songs off this EP I feel like I am listening to a modern classic rock song.” - The Ripple Effect, California

"“They say heart no longer exists in modern music, especially rock. Obviously, those people have never listened to City and the Sea""

“They say heart no longer exists in modern music, especially rock. Obviously, those people have never listened to City and the Sea and are truly missing out on a passionate playful band. Their melodic music is fused together to create a simplistic splendid style all their own.” - The Ripple Effect, California

"“Catchy melodies, strong vocals, a sound that's pop-rock without being generically so""

“Catchy melodies, strong vocals, a sound that's pop-rock without being generically so -- those are all the things you want if you're going to make a run at the big time. Cap it all off with an EP that's free for download, and you've got the makings of a band that's certainly ready for its close up.” - iheartmusic

""They certainly sound like they have all the ingredients in place to conquer the radio.”"

“And yet...there's something about City and the Sea's newest EP, Leave A Light On, that makes me want to predict great things for them...as songs like "Gimme Back My Soul" and "Hundred" show, they certainly sound like they have all the ingredients in place to conquer the radio.” - iheartmusic

"Album Review 3"

"Look, it’s easy for a band to try to replicate the sounds we all grew up loving, but it’s hard as hell to pull it off and The Mississippi Kings do that with ease." - Herohill.com

"Long Time Comin' Album Review 2"

"In the end this album is a gritty but smooth listen and incorporates many different styles but still maintains a cohesive theme and sound from beginning to end. If you’re a fan of Canadian music this is definitely an album to pick up and you really have no reason not too, as the band offers a free full-album download through their website. These boys will be on tour soon and I can assure you that their live performance will not disappoint so make sure to check them out if they come to your city." - Fazer.ca

"Long Time Comin' Album Review"

"You know these songs; you’ve heard them before somewhere, but you haven’t really. They’re original but also strangely familiar. And that’s their beauty." - American UK

Bio

City and The Sea release their new EP "Action Figures" in February 2013.

The first single "Strange Feeling" has already garnered attention for it's riff-heavy, catchy sound.

The band's profile has been rising and fans are catching on to their hooky tunes and rocking stage show. These guys don't fool around in the rock 'n' roll department. Their sound has been compared to the Foo Fighters, Jimmy Eat World and Smashing Pumpkins.

Live, loud, melodic and fiercer than ever, City and The Sea are sporting a new lineup, new songs and a fresh attitude.

After tours in Canada and Europe, and three releases, for all intents and purposes, City and The Sea is a brand new band.

The live show has never been tighter or more engaging, from the howl of Jon Daly's lead guitar to the soulful lead vocals of Nick Cino. Dave Marini is the band's heart on the bass, and new addition Joe Piccolo has given the band new life behind the skins. The new songs tackle themes of change, escape, identity, and aliens. Lots of aliens.
