Civilians is a new band to emerge on the NYC scene, a live sound experience charged with the essence of rock-n-roll and rooted in original songwriting. Infused with the multinational background of its members, Civilians music blends elements from different cultures and music genres, from 60's rock to bossa-nova, psychedelia to jazz and blues, creating a mature polyphonic soundcape. The bands live shows move from jumping pop tunes to melancholic atmospheres and back to chaotic blues, engaging the listener and producing an interactive experience.

No flowers in the jar
and the rain is falling

It’s 8 am, she lost her man
and the water is boiling

She tried but can’t recollect the facts
of his death

She can’t even remember which day he left
But can’t help wondering where he’s at

While at the corner plays a homeless boy
Happy with his broken toy
On a rainy day

And the man who gives the boy a coin
He’s been working hard since before the dawn
Each and every day

And every moment life goes on
As sure as a river flows

If there’s traffic
Someone’s late
And there’s traffic everyday

If someone’s winning
Someone’s losing
And there’s a few wining everyday

To pay and to get paid
There are lines everywhere

Some are looking for forgiveness
Some just trying to forget

An unconscious reckless recycling of death
A ticket to nowhere
Bought by the calluses of our hands

Through ageless crossroads
Through deserted dreams
Till the end of the rainbow
Where lies the phony jewelry

A seed in the sand
A gun in a hand
A truce in a war
A knock on the door
The refurbished words
in the news
are never nude

Love is a trap
It’s just lust in disguise
A cheap excuse
for the lens of in our eyes

Who would choose if they could avoid?

That the body wants
but the mind fears

My addicted body
