January 18, 2006

I have known Cedric Jefferson over ten years and during that time frame I have seen him develop into an anointed musician that has the skills and leadership ability to handle the position of Minister of Music. He is multi-talented with expertise in vocals, instruments and has an excellent ability to lead worship.

He has led the music ministry for many of the conferences that our Ministry hosts and has a phenomenal ability to flow with the Holy Spirit and anticipate the direction of the meeting.

Not only are Cedric’s musical talents excellent, but so is his character. His wife and children represent well that he is a man of God that lives the life that he sings about.

Regards,
Debbie Adebayo

To Whom It May Concern:

It is a special pleasure to introduce and recommend to you Cedric and Rhoda Jefferson and Cjamusic Productions. Cedric and Rhoda are like my son and daughter in our relationship. They have served the Music Ministry of Wheaton Christian Center since 1988 and are presently music ministers in the Aurora Branch of Wheaton Christian Center. Their ministry has always been with sincerity and dedication.

The Lord is using them in ever-widening doors of ministry and they are serving with love and good will. They are a musically talented couple and nothing but good is in their future together in the ministry of music.

You can be assured that their ministry will be both rich and anointed. They both live and breathe music and we believe the Lord has begun to launch them into a really productive and blessed music career.

Sincerely,

Carlton R. Arthurs
Senior Pastor
- Wheaton Christian Center

Bio

Cedric Jefferson is a singer, songwriter, and Christian praise and worship leader. Born and raised in a traditional Baptist church setting, he received Christ at age 10. As a teenager, Cedric received informal music training through the black church choir experience and was a soloist and singer. He migrated toward smaller musical groups and ensembles due to his interest in the “harmonic” sound. In 1980, Cedric attended Illinois State University where his musical abilities were noted by Dr. Frank Suggs, the Black Music Studies Head and he was made the principal keyboardist for the Creative Arts Ensemble. During this time, he also focused on his songwriting skills and became actively involved in playing local jazz clubs in the area. Being a child of the 60's, Cedric became adept at reproducing the "Motown" sound. Smoky Robinson, Stevie Wonder, The Topps, The Temptations, and Marvin Gaye were very inspirational to him. Christian artists like Andre Crouch and the Hawkins family were also notable in Cedric's singing style. His voice was said to be a combination of Andre Crouch and Teddy Pendergrass, with a touch of Peabo Bryson.
In 1988, Cedric felt an urging to attend Wheaton Christian Center in Wheaton, Illinois, founded by Pastor Carlton Arthurs. This move turned out to be the start of the revelation of God’s purpose in his life.
Over the next 17 years as a member of the WCC music ministry, Cedric built the first ensemble of players at the church, continued to utilize his songwriting abilities, and became the principal worship leader over the music ministry, sharing the stage with notable artists such as Phil Driscoll, Ron Kenoly, Keith Staten, Jesse Dixon, Charles Laster II, DeLeon, and Desmond Pringle. He also completed several musical and recording projects (“Thoughts”, 1994, a compilation of all of his writings; “God is Great, 2002”, Minnie Jefferson, artist). While serving in the worship ministry, Cedric discovered a God given teaching gift. In 2000, he earned a music degree from Columbia College of Chicago, graduating with honors.
Cedric has had many great achievements. These achievements have further fueled his passion to write music that when performed creates an environment of worship praise, and power for people everywhere.
