Catherine Johanna Frank - The newest voice of Alt/Country music

Biography

Catherine Johanna Frank

The lines of sub genres are often blurry, and Alt/Country is certainly no exception to the rule, but one thing is certain - whatever Alt/Country is, Catherine Johanna Frank is doing it right.
Catherine is not from a musically inclined family, doesn't live in the southern states, and doesn't drive a pickup truck. But these facts haven't stopped the Waterloo country native from launching a country music career, and accumulating an impressive resume along the way. Catherine has had the opportunity to work with some of Canada's top artists, insiders and producers, including, Ken Greer (Red Rider), Chris Mcneil (Glass Tiger), and David Hayman (Super Group Song Branding Co). Most recently, she's teamed up with Oak Studios' Gord Richards in Toronto, to create "Three", her first EP, to be released on ITunes later this year.

Catherine has played all the important indie spots Toronto has to offer. From the Horseshoe Tavern, to Lee's Palace, to the Silver Dollar - and her live shows are really something to behold. "When [she] starts to sing - everything else stops" - Ely Rise, Pulse Recordings
Her music is her struggle personified. Every heart break, every hope, is heard and related to by her fans. With metaphoric poetry, and a voice that resonates in your bones, Catherine takes you on a musical journey to the inner most workings of her soul.
