Bio

Cali Jonez is a Rapper turned Producer, backed by the Word of God. Those of you who have been listening to Cali Jonez through out the years know that this faith has not always been visible.Throughout the years he had allowed himself to become very bitter and self absorbed. His music had gone from his earlier hit, "Trinity" all the way to songs like "Ladies Say Yeah" and "Dangerous" which were songs about how great he was and how deadly he could be. This change did not take place overnight. It started with "just not mentioning God" and then led in to "just using the everyday cuss words" and eventually to the songs mentioned above filled with language, sex, violence, and pride. Cali Jonez had become the exact artist that he intended NOT to be.

In May of 2009 Cali Jonez found himself sitting in his garage with no answers to a life that he had completely torn apart. He believed, up to this point, he had his life under control. Now he was facing up to the fact that he had literally destroyed himself, mentally, physically, and definitely spiritually. He had ran from God's grace and mercy for so long he wondered if he could ever return. Then he thought of the prodigal son and knew all he had to do was come home. At once Cali Jonez picked up the phone and called, what used to be, a close friend and spiritual counselor. Even though it was midnight Steve answered the phone. Steve began to tell Cali Jonez that God already knew what had happened and, if he asked with, repentance, God would not only forgive him but forget about his sins. Without thinking about it Cali Jonez began to pray and asked God to be back in His presence.
The story does not end there. Throughout the last year Cali Jonez has put music aside and concentrated on truly knowing God for the first time. He has been in the Word searching the pages and hiding them in his heart. Now he is back in the lab working on his newest CD that is due to be released this summer.
