Bio
Claire Nicholson, originally from Decatur, Illinois, is a double major in bassoon performance and biology at Butler University. She studies bassoon with Douglas Spaniol and tenor saxophone with Gary Walters. She has performed concertos with Kokomo Symphony and Butler Symphony Orchestras and contributed numerous compositions and arrangements to Chicks n’ Sticks jazz combo and Butler Jazz Ensemble. She is a member of Sigma Alpha Iota, Pi Kappa Lambda, and Phi Kappa Phi honorary fraternities. Claire has also been active in the biology department, including conducting research for the Butler Summer Institute and serving as president of the Environmental Concerns Organization.
