Bio

Clarence Clemons Temple of Soul is a twelve piece metro-rock unit that is a celebration in the church of what's happening now! Clarence leads this amazing ensemble of musical talent through a labyrinth of dynamic soungs. His thirty year career that encompasses being the focal point of Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band, as well as playing a multitude of diverse characters on the big and small screen, just begins the tale of this creatively talented artist's credits.

Throughout a career that has spanned more than thirty years, Clarence Clemons has left his distinctive mark on all that he has come in contact with. The sheer spectrum of his vast accomplishments is in itself impressive. He has traveled many roads of artistic endeavors. He has never restricted himself to one form of creative expression, always drawing from a wide array of talents. In addition to an ever lengthening roster of live concerts, performances and recording projects, his credits include a growing portfolio of dramatic and comedia appearances, both cinematic and for television.

Clemons is most widely known for his unmistakable saxaphone sound, which for more than three decades, has lofted Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band to become, as some have deemed it, the greatest rock and roll band in the world. With the influences of such greats as Junior Walker, King Curtis, and Gato Barbieri, Clemons has developed his own unique style that has made him one of the most renowned saxophonists in the world. His live performances with the E Street Band, as well as with his own Temple of Soul, The Jerry Garcia Band, The Grateful Dead, and Ringo Starr's All Star Band, have left audiences breathless, clinging to every expressive note ouring from his horn.

Mr. Clemons' discography is large and varied; creating what seems to be an endlessly definitive statement of musical expression. He has recorded albums with such notable and varied artists as Aretha Franklin, Paul Young, Alvin Lee, and Roy Orbison. The greatest testament to his wide appeal would be his unique ability to span a range of music genres from David Koz's "Sax Man" LP to Ricky Skagg's LP "Honey". He has performed and recorded with the European superstart Zuchero, and has recently been sought out by stellar Italian producer Mauro Paoluzzi to lay down tracks for the first international release of Russian pop star, Oxana.

Clarence continues to add to his actingresume in both television and movies. He has appeared in several television series, ranging from situation comedies to intensely riveting dramas. The Big Man has been seen in current hits like "All In The Family", "That's Life", the long running hit CBS series "Nash Bridges", as well as UPN's "The Sentinel" and "Viper". He's had several featured roles on the big screen including "Fatal Instinct", the original "Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure" and "Blues Brothers 2000". In "Swing", just released to video, Clarence puts both his theatrical and musical mark in place. Never allowing limitations to hinder his expansion, he's now using his abilities for script writing as well as musical composition for television and musical scores.

Clarenec has just completed a record-breaking world tour with Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band promoting the triple-platinum selling album, "The Rising". The release of his own CD, "Temple of Soul Live In Asbury Park, Volume II" has been receiving glowing reviews and Clarence's 12 piece band is currently touring to promote the album, scheduling dates throughout the US and Europe for the remainder of 2004. The band is widely heralded as one of the hottest acts on tour, featuring virtuosity on every instrument, with Clarence's inimitable sax sound setting the standard and raising the bar; the four piece horn section, keyboard, organ, guitar, violin, bass, drums and percussionist, keep pace with the Big Man and produce a unique sound that has been described as South Florida soul, a touch of salsa and plenty of rock 'n roll.
