ClarkStreet

BandRockPunk

A unique brand of vocal driven, punk influenced rock with melodic pop hooks in every song. The incorporation of three part vocal harmonies adds depth to the aggressive sound.

Biography

ClarkStreet began in 2001 as an average 4 piece pop punk band from northern New Jersey. With the recent addition of Jon Longley on drums, joining Dave Flores (Vocals, Guitar), Rob Piccininni (Bass, Vocals) and Brian Grego (Guitar, Vocals), They are now anything but that. Today ClarkStreet can be described as an edgy group of talented musicians who play a unique brand of vocal driven, punk influenced rock with melodic pop hooks in every song. Their incorporation of three part vocal harmonies not only adds depth to their aggressive sound but also serves as a defining characteristic in an otherwise stagnant (and boring) music scene. In their 5 year history, the band has been playing non stop throughout their homestate in addition to a few east coast tours as main support for national acts like Day at the Fair and MC Lars. Over this time they’ve gained quite a bit of popularity through a widely distributed 5 song demo. ClarkStreet has also shared the stage in their tri state area with bands such as My Chemical Romance, Bigwig, The Lawrence Arms, Vision, None More Black and many others. With their recently recorded, 6 song EP entitled “Stage theory”, on the way, the guys are already hard at work writing a follow up full length album and planning a national tour. So while it’s already been 5 years in the making of this New Jersey quartet, they see this as only the beginning because they are exactly where they want to be. As they sing in their song Blacks and Blues, “Hats off to patience, honey…”

Lyrics

Hello Lusitania

Written By: ClarkStreet

(verse)
Maybe I’ll watch what I say
When I smash this bottle
Right before we set sail
Into open water
And if we hit rock bottom
Well, maybe then we’ll find a way
To understand this hollow
This empty feeling everyday

(verse)
And did you really want to say
It was a waste of my time
Or that I’m boring myself to death
I should be doing just fine
When we hit rock bottom
Well, maybe then we’ll know what to say
To help us reconcile
With everyone who’s parted ways

(chorus)
Then go out with a bang straight from down below
We’re further out than we even know
I’ve got this sinking feeling tonight
Hello Lusitania
Abandoning this sunken ship
We knew it was a one way…

(verse)
Maybe I’ll know what to say
When I’ve reached the bottom
Because I caused these sunken eyes
When it pulled me under
So now I’ll hit that bottle
And the words just fly away
I’ll hit full throttle
And I’ll know just what to say

(chorus)
Then go out with a bang from down below
We’re further out than we even know
I’ve got this sinking feeling tonight
Hello Lusitania
Abandoning this sunken ship
We knew it was a one way …

Hello Lusitania
Abandoning this sunken ship
We knew it was a one way …

In Thirds

(VERSE)
What if I should ruin everything
Maybe then we’ll start it over
Tell me that we’re doing anything
Before I start to lose control
What if I was everything to everyone
When could I be myself
Next week? Next Month? Next year?
My time has gone to hell

(CHORUS)
Maybe tomorrow
Maybe tonight
Maybe I’ll just stand aside
And let this be my life
Maybe tomorrow
Maybe tonight
It’s hard to swallow
But I know that it’s alright
Whoa. You’ll never find your way back home

(VERSE)
What if I remembered what it was
To pour it into these four chords
Show me that we’re doing anything
Because I’m starting to get bored
What if I was everything
Could it end this suffering
It seems we’ve lost our way
With nothing left to say
I’m back to where I started out
So thanks for nothing
So thanks for nothing
What if I was everything to everyone
When could I be myself
Next week? Next Month? Next year?
My time has gone to hell

(CHORUS)

It’s time to panic
It’s time to panic
