Clash of Factions

BandRockFunk

We write the majority of our music through jamming and improvisation. If you had to describe us you could say we are the reincarnation of Rage Against the Machine mixed with the soaring melodies of Incubus and the Chili Peppers. (i.e. funk/hard rock)

Biography

We are all from Ottawa, Ks. Ottawa is just a typical small redneck town in Kansas.
Our band formed at the very end of '06 and started practicing in a small room upstairs in Andrew and Andy's church. Don't get confused, we stray far from the path of Christian music. We began covering music by Rage Against the Machine, Wolfmother, and Hendrix.
Soon enough we produced our first song, Ode to Funk, through a random jam between Andy and John. Later Andrew came and made up a bass line, and we went from there. Since then we've been writing, performing, practicing, covering, and jamming to all sorts of different styles.
Our influences:
Rage Against the Machine
Wolfmother
Red Hot Chili Peppers
Incubus
The Avett Brothers
Sublime
State Radio
Rare Earth
Jimi Hendrix
Led Zeppelin
The Mars Volta

Discography

We are working on our first EP at the moment, but we've recorded two songs individually at a friend's house. Those two are called "Ode to Funk" and "Bring'em Down."

Set List

We have about nine original songs and the songs we usually cover are: Bulls on Parade, Sleep Now in the Fire, and Born of a Broken Man (Rage); Under My Umbrella (Incubus); Under the Bridge (Chili Peppers); Woman (Wolfmother); Crazy Game of Poker (O.A.R.); Wild Thing (Hendrix style version).
