Classic Monkey Shines' sound comes from 5 years of intense rehearsal together. They are very deeply rooted in american grassroots rock and the funk-rock hybrids that have emerged in recent decades, but are constantly trying to push their own boundaries and move in new directions. The biggist evidence of this comes from the live shows, with seamless sets and songs weaving their way throughout the night, the improvisational aspect allows the band to create a personal experience for each audience member. Major influences include: The Allman Brothers, Funky Meters, Jimi Hendrix Experience, Bob Dylan, Cream, Phish, and the Grateful Dead. Combining elements taken from these influences and latin,rock,funk, blues,folk,jazz, and bluegrass, Classic Monkey Shine is a band that is always growing and always moving in new ways.
