Here they are. Your classic hip hop band. You must have a
good rhythm section or don't even think about rap. So, a good
bass player, a decent drummer and 3 guys rapping who are so
cool that Ice cold would not be enough (ok, the Outkast
reference is there.. don't hit me) is all into place.
This is a good one and the crowd knows it. I've seen 3000
great hip hop bands in Paris (I won't mention even the States
and the UK) but this one here is pretty good. I would even go
as far as saying better.
People are excited to see them, they make young and old
dance and they are a breath of fresh air for the evening
considering rock is the norm.
HIP? Yes. FUNK? Yes. FRESH? Absolutely. As long as this packed
room enjoys the show ,we are right behind them.....Amazing!

A sunny Brisbane five-piece collective, Classik Nawu have captured an honest, relevant, yet fun-loving sound that sees them escalate into 2013.
Brothers, Sah (Au Bala) and Tito Ghee merge natural harmonies in an almost irreverent likeness to the soul/reggae greats that form the basis of their own genre.. HIPFUNKFRESH.
Rhyme-smith, Swilo is your emcee for the evening, while making their presence impossible to ignore, the ever-dependable Big Daddy T. (Uncle Tony Ghee) on bass and forward thinking drummer, 19-year-old Jimahl ‘Marley J’ Fairburn anchoring the assault.

Even as kids on a remote Island community in the Torres Strait, they weren’t into writing a song as much as penning a classic, and the Songwriting comes to the fore. The works themselves are the virtual bow launching the group on a flight path that sees them hitting strategic targets in the concrete jungle.
Formed in 2011, the bon-a-fide buzz surrounding this band’s debut performances, the release of a five track EP - HIPFUNKFRESH, and their quickly increasing fan base, have Classik Nawu poised to become a major force in Urban music of the decade.
