Bio

The Claude Diallo Situation exists since April 2007. Swiss Jazz musician Claude Diallo played with Swiss drummer Massimo Buonanno since the year 2000. The played in a group called Blizz Rhythmia for 7 years and released 3 CDs. In the year 2004 Claude Diallo went to study at Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA USA where he graduated in December 2006. Massimo Buonanno begun his studies at Berklee College of Music in January 2007. There they met Laurent Salzard, an electric-bass player from Paris, France. Since their musical encounter they performed on several occasions and toured together in Switzerland and Austria. They toured with renowned Canadian Jazz singer Denzal Sinclaire www.denzalsinclaire.com and with the young Swiss guitar hero Johann Frank www.joefrank.ch (he played with Phil Colins at age 17). In January 2008 they recorded one of their live performances and released the CD: Claude Diallo Situation: Traveling with Music. The mix from different cultural backgrounds, their same background through Berklee and their high level of musical talent makes this band something special. Every song is set in a different mood or style. The band performs mostly original composition in the styles of World-Music, Fusion-Jazz, Latin-Jazz and Swing and odd-meters are common. most of the Jazz Standards are highly re-arranged and the band puts a new flavor on them. The band is influenced by groups such as the Yellow Jackets, Vital Information, Oscar Peterson, Chick Corea, Bob James, Richard Bona among others.
