Clay Callaway

BandJazzBroadway

Gay male crooner singing Standards, Broadway, Light Jazz, Country and Pop tunes for all audiences.

Biography

Vocalist, Clay Callaway, releases his debut album of love songs, of sorts, for gay men and those that love them, "Darn It, Baby, That's Love!" The concept album was created to offer a selection of cabaret, Broadway, and popular songs with a man singing of his love to another man. "We wanted this album give a man to man perspective on some of these songs, most of them written by men, but made famous by female singers," he explains.
This is his first outing, so to speak, with contrasting lush as well as simple arrangements to compliment his smooth vocal stylings. Though his vocal style is unique, Clay Callaway has often been compared to Mel Torme, Neil Sedaka and Michale Buble.
Originally from South Arkansas, he currently resides in Hawaii with his partner of 17 years, Ty Lewis (also featured in a duet of the title track on the album).

Clay is currently working on his second album which will feature several of his original songs.

Lyrics

Crying in the Night

Written By: Clay Callaway / Bob Garrett

We've been through this once before,
Facing love so insecure,
And we've almost closed the door
Crying In The Night.

Something made us see it through
To a different point of view.
Now, there's only me and you
Crying In The Night.

I've imagined love surviving
If we only keep on trying.
In the end we'll find a way
To say we'll be alright.

Keep the faith. We'll make it last
Leaving sorrow in the past.
Sometimes we give up to fast
Crying In The Night.

I've imagined love surviving
If we only keep on trying.
In the end we'll find a way
To say we'll be alright.

Take my hand. Let's Try again.
Broken hearts can always mend.
Promise that we'll never end up
Crying In The Night,
Crying In The Night.

My Superman

Written By: Wayne Moore

My Superman, doesn't matter what you say you are, the way you are, is fine with me. You'll always be my Superman.
My Superman, no one else can hold a candle to a man like you. You rescue me. You'll always be my Superman.
We fly as only you and I can, and everything we try can work out somehow.
So high, I wonder if I'm falling. And then I hear you calling. My hero's here and now.
My Superman isn't faster than a speeding train but Lois Lane can't love her guy the way I love the hero I am thinking of. My man of steel is very real, My Superman.
My Superman, My SUperman.

Somewhere, Sometime Ago

Written By: Andy Belling

Somewhere back sometime ago
I still remember how you used to hold me so.
In your eyes you needed me somewhere, sometime ago.
Silver hours and golden days are precious little jewels kept in memory's haze.
And their value cannot fade somewhere, sometime ago.
I hear those easy words, some awkward lies, but in your eyes the truth.
I wish I'd saved the hours I spent alone
And squandered them on you.
How the moments fly so fast.
And everytime they seem to hurry by too fast,
You command them to become somewhere, sometime ago.
