Bio

Accomplished producer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and performing artist, Clay Cook's has been a staple of the Southeast's musical landscape for nearly a decade. In the last three years, he has toured extensively with the Marshall Tucker Band and Shawn Mullins, and also played with luminaries the Charlie Daniels Band, Train and Edwin McCain.

While attending the Berklee College of Music, Clay met two important subsequent collaborators: bassist Matt Mangano and a guitarist and fellow songwriter named John Mayer. In 1998, Clay and John Mayer formed the Lo-Fi Masters, the critically lauded Atlanta duo. During this time, Clay co-wrote future Mayer hits "No Such Thing," and "Neon."

As the Lo-Fi Masters faded away, Clay's first stint on the road was with the Marshall Tucker Band, with whom he still tours, playing guitar, flute, saxaphone, and keyboards, plus backing vocals. Clay worked his magic quietly in the background with Marshall Tucker before leaving for a brief stint in 2003 to play bass for now Platinum chart-toppers Sugarland.

The Year I Grew Up is Clay Cook's latest studio album. He wrote, recorded, and produced the album in its entirety, as well as playing every instrument on the album. Three years of constant touring with Shawn Mullins and the Marshall Tucker Band have allowed him the confidence, maturity, and introspection that comes with the territory. The Year I Grew Up portrays an artist who has earned the title of producer, songwriter, and musician.
