Bio
Clay Daddy was formed in 1999 when CoverBear recording artist Scott Montgomery, a veteran of the west coast singer/songwriter touring circuit, teamed up with hard-hitting drummer Tony Johnson to create one of the most original, dynamic sounds heard in Seattle in years. Their live shows, filled with energetic, intense acoustic rock, quickly garnered a loyal following throughout the Seattle area.
Scott and Tony are pleased to have completed this dynamic sound with the likes of Seattle greats Austin Chester on lead guitar, formerly of Dirty Nickel and Lucas Smith on bass, formerly of Skeletons with Flesh on Them.
The members of Clay Daddy are accomplished individually and collectively, having played and headlined top clubs from Seattle to L.A. and in Minneapolis; performed with national and international touring acts such as Deadweight (now known as Les Claypool and the Frog Brigade); appeared live and been featured on numerous radio stations including KEXP and KMTT The Mountain as well as on several local television broadcasts; and released nearly a dozen EP- and full-length recordings.
