"Listen to Clay Perry’s “Supposed 2 Be”."

It’s always cool coming across new talent in the DFW area, especially in Fort Worth. I came across this Fort Worth artist Clay Perry on Twitter and his newest track “Suppose 2 Be”. I also noticed that legendary Texas DJ and producer Michael Watts also tweeted out the track to. In “Suppose 2 Be”, Perry goes on to talk about how great of a city Fort Worth is and how he feels he’s next out of the city.

Ft. Worth lyricist Clay Perry (@ClayPerryMusic) sent in his latest single and I a definitely a fan of his sound. Consistent flow throughout with a melodic hook that can attract a very wide audience. Great piece hope he continues to represent the DFW and make dope music! follow Clay for more music and updates on twitter and check out his soundcloud https://soundcloud.com/clay2345 - 214Today

Bio

James Perry, professionally known as Clay Perry, was born in Arlington, Texas on October 20, 1990. Clay, who left his hometown to join the U.S. Navy at the tender age of 18, naturally gravitated towards music as child. Playing his drum set at the age of 4 and 5 and singing in restaurants was a near daily occurrence for him. This is a feeling that Clay was never able to let go of. To be able to spread love, make people happy, and to have an effect on people is something that is so powerful; a power that not all withhold, so once he realized that he had this force within, that is when he knew that music was his calling. Clay Perry was in a band in his high school days, but although 2010 is when he knew that he wanted this to be his main goal in life and his career, he did not begin playing music professionally until 2 years later in 2012. With musical influences like Bob
Marley, Nas, Eminem, Ludacris, and Kendrick Lamar, amongst more, it was none other than Mike Clarke and world-renown Texas-bred DJ Michael Watts who gave Clay his guidance and first experiences in the music industry by taking him under their wing, showing him the “ropes”, and taking him on the road. This lead to Clay being alongside artists like Webbie, Lil Keke, Slim Thug, T.I., Trae Tha Truth, & Mr. Lee, who are all successful in their own ways. This sparked so much motivation in Clay’s aura. Not many hip-hop artists play the guitar, piano, and drums as Clay Perry does. These are only a few of the many things that sets him apart and puts him in his very own lane. With a demographic ranging from 15-30, his music is being purchased, thus far, in different areas and nationwide. He has performed all over Texas in places such as Dallas, Austin, San Antonio, Waco, and Killeen, but with his current momentum, Clay Perry is headed towards being an international artist. The question was asked to Clay, “What do you hope to get out of your involvement in the music industry?” His answer was, “To be honest, I have never thought of it as, what can I get out of this? I feel like I receive what I want from this everyday I just want to create so if I die today I have already created. So I am whole.” Those are words of a man who is willing to strive and go to any extent for his goals, success, and progress. A man named, Clay Perry.
