Cle-Smyf Biography (1986 - )
byname of Cleon Smith
Singer, song writer, producer and musician. Cleon Smith was born on August 17, 1986 in Chicago, Illinois. Growing up in a middle class African American family. By the age of 11 Cle-Smyf started out playing the drums and singing at his home church, Bethel Apostolic where he was baptized. By the age of 17 he began writing songs and making beats with an urban contemporary gospel sound. He created his first self produced album, The Way You Want Me, which was completed in 2006.
He continued to write and compose music after moderate success with his first album. Mean while Ministering his original songs at community functions, gospel concerts, and many different venues in Illinois. In 2007 he auditioned for, BET’S Sundays Best, television competition. He received a call back and went on to beat out hundreds of contestants and finished in the top 30 out of Chicago, IL.
In 2008 after learning and growing from the BET television competition he started and completed his second album, Right On Track, with fan favorites like Wanna Come Home, My Best Move, and Happy Ending. Cle-Smyf is clearly on his way to the top. He continues to write, compose, and minister in song with the talent that GOD has given him. He is blessed, humble and continuing to do what GOD has called him to do.
