Clever Little Tramps:
In 2011 I (Russell Holden) started taking songs to my bass-playing brother (Mark Holden) to see if he was interested in recording me for a solo project. We were both in different rock bands at the time so the acoustic songs I'd written came as a relief to play and sing. When we started to record and listen back we knew we had something special but also something missing.
Being a frustrated drummer, my brother asked "dya think I should do some percussion and get someone else on bass?". I called up the bass player from my very first band ( Michael Bates), whom I hadn't seen for about 12 years and it just clicked.
We now have a collection of well crafted and thought out songs with meaningful lyrics and harmonies tied together with a distinctive sound. A recent review..."Mellow, bluesy acoustic numbers sung with character and well devised harmony arrangements. With nods to peers such as Neil Young, Crosby Stills and Nash and smatterings of Fleet Foxes, all with a very strong Coral-esque undercurrent to their songs. Well performed and received".
We're new as this band but as musicians we are old hats, with many years of gigging and recording experience.
