Biography

Clevetta, as she is so affectionately known, is what some may call ‘the Obvious’....beautiful, very classy, intelligent, down-to-earth and physically and pleasingly fit (to say the least). She’s talented and it was a given that she would sing because it was passed down through generations on both sides of her family. Her great-grandfather started the Fairfield Four and her uncle is the award winning Montrel Darrett. She hooked up with her uncle and hit the studio to create her unique sound, taking her first step in pursuing her singing career. She wanted to show that she wasn’t just another singer or just another great voice in the background. She shocked everyone when she decided that she did not want to do Gospel music, as most of her family has, or play NCAA basketball, as she had numerous scholarship offers. She hasn’t stopped since!
Clevetta is the total artist. A dancer, singer, songwriter and all-around entertainer. She can do it all! “I love being able to be creative all while being true to myself and my craft. I am very competitive, which is healthy because it pushes me to be the best I can be for myself and for my fans and that is what I love. I like to see the reaction of people when they see me do me to the fullest. The message I want to get across to young ladies is to think of yourself as beautiful and treat yourself as beautiful.
At the end of the day I want my life and artistry to make sense and complete me. This is the reason God has given me this gift and the reason I share it with you”.
Since graduation, Clevetta has performed at numerous local venues. She won the hearts of the‘Showtime at the Apollo’ audience in New York City, BET’s Blaze the Stage Talent Search, The Black Film Festival in Nashville, TN and the Sweet Auburn Festival in Atlanta, GA. All of that since May!
On January 19, 2011, Clevetta will take the stage with her dancers to perform on BET’s 106 and Park’s Wild Out Wednesday!
