Biography

Introducing Crossroads Records Recording Artist:
Cliff Rubin

“Cliff Rubin’s performances have the power to incite the spirit of love…People are touched, changed and inspired in his concerts and take home with them the feeling that they are capable of more love, hope and joy then they ever allowed themselves to know.”
Sound Connections Jan. ’07 issue

“Cliff Rubin will inspire, motivate and uplift your soul to attain glorious heights of love, joy and enthusiasm. Use his music as I do and I guarantee you will be blessed.”
Terry Cole-Whittaker, Best Selling Author and Lecturer

After a successful start in the music industry that included record deals with Warner Bros. and Delta Records, plus touring with notables such as Jimmy Buffet, Richie Havens, Taj Mahal and Bachman Turner Overdrive, a near death experience put an end to his early dreams.

Years of healing and reflection have brought him to a place of caring far more deeply than before his illness. His hard-earned knowledge of what’s important in life and what’s worth doing, expresses clearly through his new music.

Terry McBride, author of “The Hell I Can’t” says, “Cliff Rubin has put to music concepts, ideas and truth that inspire the listener to believe in the miracle of life itself. The lyrics and melodies empower me and move me to a deeper feeling of trust, goodness and the glorious connection we have with each other…Do yourself and what you care about a favor: listen to his music often.”

Cliff is currently touring nationwide. In 2007 he played over 120 dates in over 14 states. He has played over 40 dates so far in 2008, while working on a new CD. New songs can be listened to at http://cliffsongs4you.com .

Lyrics

Dreamers an Children

Written By: Cliff Rubin

Verse
She paints a picture of a rocket ship with herself as pilot, flying off to mars
She talks of what she’ll do as president, ending wars, feeding the poor chocolate
And something healthy, too

Then she’s having tea with her favorite movie star
Then she’s climbing trees with the boy next door
They say they’ll marry soon
But first they’ll go to school
They’re gonna build a house bigger than the moon

Chorus
Thank God for Dreamers and Children
Reminding us the stars are worth the reach
They cast away all doubt, knowing it will all turn out
It’s not make believe, it’s possibilities

She dress’s herself first day of school in a red dress, green tights and a green pair of shoes
She says, “Look, I’m a rose. Aren’t I pretty?” I quickly smile and tell her so

Off to school we go, she grips her seat so tightly
There’s the boy next door, waiting so politely
He’s dressed like superman
Takes her by the hand
There goes my flower with the man of steel

Chorus

Bridge
As I drove back home, I remembered a dream I had long ago
I thought it was time to know it was possible

Chorus

Out
And I do believe in possibilities

Life's A Mystery

Written By: Cliff Rubin

Verse
There once was a farmer with only one horse
One day that horse ran away
His neighbor came by to give his regrets
The farmer shrugged and said, “Life’s a mystery. Where it leads, we’ll see.”

A few days later the horse returned
With four mares and a colt
His neighbor came by to celebrate
The farmer shrugged as he spoke

Chorus
Life’s a mystery. Where it leads, we’ll see
Life’s a mystery and I enjoy it for it teaches me
The more we learn, the less concerns, the easier to breathe
Whatever you see look a little deeper
And you’ll uncover another piece of life’s mystery

Verse
The farmer’s son tried to break the horses
But broke his leg instead
The neighbor came by to say what a shame
The farmer shrugged and you know what he said

Then the town sent their sons off to war
But the broken legged boy couldn’t serve
The neighbor came by to praise his friend’s luck
The farmer shrugged and reaffirmed

Chorus

Bridge
The son learnt from his father, his life full and rich
The neighbor’s son came by and asked what his secret is
The farmer shrugged and said

Chorus

Divine Guidance

Written By: Cliff Rubin

Divine Guidance

Words and music by Clifford A Rubin

Verse:
Let me tell you ‘bout a time my life looked kinda rough
I couldn’t find a job, money was tight, it was a little tough
But I didn’t worry, I didn’t freak out (maybe a touch)
I kept tellin’ myself not to doubt in

Chorus:
Divine Guidance lighting our way
Divine Guidance in everything, everything
Look for the good, you’ll find what you seek
Like the gates of heaven open ‘cause we got the key
Divine Guidance is always there for you and me

Verse:
Why does the salmon swim home upstream
How does the songbird know how to sing
How do soul mates find each other
How do we recognize a stranger as a brother it’s

Chorus

Bridge:
I found a new job, but better still
My dreams are happening imagine the thrill
It’s not luck, nor coincidence
I’ve worked at building my confidence in

Chorus

Feels Like A Minute

Written By: Cliff Rubin

Feels Like A Minute
Words and music by Cliff Rubin

Verse
Tick Tock, tick tock
There goes my biological clock
Alarm went off and I’m awake
Got to get hold of my own fate

Chorus
Feels like a minute life shoots by and you’re so much older
Can you say you did it, the reason why you came
Feels like a minute, that’s no lie, when your time is over
How you gonna feel when the reaper calls your name
What do you believe

Verse
Blowin’ all your money don’t mean a thing
Times what don’t come back again
Wish I knew then what I know now
Nah, wouldn’t have made a difference anyhow

Chorus

Bridge
Do you harbor regrets, are you unforgiving
Do you hold on, hold on, to what might have been
Man, that’s a sin

Chorus

More

More

By Cliff Rubin

Verse
I like to watch the ocean waves crash upon the rocks at night
A piece of moon, a star-filled sky shedding just enough light

To see the endless glory
To hear the windswept story
To feel every place it's been
The whole thing is my awakening to More

Chorus
We are More, Jesus told us so
More, his works and greater we shall know
More, we have the spark of the divine
Let it light the Kingdom of heaven inside
We are More, We Are More

Verse
I've stood on mountaintops, my breath swept away
By a view that went for miles and miles
Tree covered ridges, clouds wisping by, a hawk soaring higher and higher

To see the endless glory
To hear the windswept story
To feel every place it's been
The whole thing is my awakening to More

Bridge
Don't listen when they say you want too much
Be unsatisfied, reach for your highest dream
Like the universe ever expanding
We are More

Chorus

Out
We Are More, Miracles abound
More, Dig deep, look around
There’s so much to be found when we see
We are More

Being Human

Written By: Cliff Rubin

Being Human
Words and music by Cliff Rubin

Verse
I’ve walked across fire
Been healed by the rain
Spoken my deepest desire
To a stranger I never saw again

Been down the road less traveled
Meditated till my spirit soared
Jumped out a plane from 15,000 feet
Sat in the desert 4 days without food or water

Chorus
I thought I’d be more enlightened
After all I’ve been through
Thought I’d be more mature, take it all with a grain of salt
Instead of getting caught up like others do
Being human

Verse
I’m kinder than I used to be
Stop to smell a rose, enjoy the view
Don’t get upset at every little thing
Take time to breathe, take time to think of you

Chorus
Still, I thought I’d be more enlightened
Flying high all the time
Above the petty stuff, swimming in nothing but love
Helping those who still have it rough
Instead of getting tangled up
Being human

Bridge
I’ve loved every adventure
Ah the stories I get to tell
All made real by the depth of the feelings I have felt
Being human

Tag
We are spiritual beings living a human experience (repeated till end)
Enjoy the ride, with its lows and highs
Being human
