Still working on that hot first release.

Feeling a bit camera shy

Cliffs began as a guitar and drums duo in 2011.

Aaron Cottrell and Adam Hardy had played music together throughout college in several different bands, and when the collegiate chapter of their lives ended, they found themselves somehow in the same city and still wanting to play music. So, they said nuts to having a bass player and tried to get as low without one as they could.

"Necessity is the Mother of Invention"
The necessity to fill what most would perceive as a void led to an adjustment and reevaluation of their respective playing styles and techniques. They both began thinking of new ways to play and thus new ways of writing songs. It has led them to wild and exciting new heights, and to new dimensions and musicians and songwriters.

They have recently added a bassist, not to fill a void, but to build on what is already there. With the addition of this new member they set out at the beginning of autumn 2014 on their first tour, playing 10 shows in 10 cities in 11 days. And after running their throats raw, busting people's eardrums and very nearly losing their sanity, they returned to their hometown with a heightened sense of passion and with a renewed purpose.

Cliffs is ready for the next chapter.

"That last song, though. It’s worth mentioning again. Started out dreamy, ended up humongous, with an awesome grasp of dynamics and the kind of melodies that latch on to a living, breathing human being. It was an exclamation point on a show that said, “Pay attention!”"
-Chris DeVille, Columbus Alive

"The band plays and self promotes with the air of scene veterans, so the fact that Saturation is their first major full length might surprise some... Saturation is loud, complex, and aggressive – yet catchy and stable enough to appeal to those less inclined toward the heavy end of the rock spectrum."
-Ryan Getz, I Am Tuned Up
