Clint on tour West Coast US & Canada

Australian singer/songwriter Clint Crighton grew up in the Snowy Mountains of NSW. Crighton has been playing live gigs and writing music since age 14. He released his first self produced, self funded record at age 16, and has been touring throughout Australia, USA and parts of Asia since.

Crighton's first overseas adventure took place in 2005 when renown keyboardist/composer Sam McNally, impressed by Clint's music asked him to go to Beijing for a three month residency in blues club "Ice House". Crighton has kept in touch with his Chinese audience, returning every year since. He's been a featured artist on numerous festivals, radio shows and TV programs in the Peoples Republic of China.

Crighton first ventured to the USA in 2006. This "adventure" turned out to be very fateful. After just two weeks in NYC, Crighton, along with mate and fellow musician Luke Dolahenty had met numerous fellow musicians and had begun playing gigs attracting good audiences. In the third week of Crighton's stay he (with Dolahenty) decided to go and see Grammy Award winning band "Toto" live in concert. Desperate to meet guitar icon Steve Lukather, the pair (thanks to a distracted security guard) stormed the backstage area and introduced themselves. It was here Crighton met "Toto's" manager Anita Heilig of the Fitzgerald Hartley co management firm. Anita was intrigued, and following a short conversation asked Clint to send her a demo. A few months later and back in Australia, Crighton did just that. As a result was signed to Fitzgerald Hartley.

Crighton flew back to the USA in late 07 where he met succesful young producer Mikal Blue (Colbie Collait, Augustana, One Republic) who was immediately interested in working with Clint. The pair, along with Australian guitarist/producer Dale Allison cut four demo tracks. Crighton also performed a number of showcases in LA and NYC.

Wanting to record a full record and not wanting to "wait for anyone" Crighton and Allison immediately put their heads together to think of ways to raise the funds required. The pair created www.talkingmoonmusic.com a fan based record label that gives supporters of Clint's music the oppurtunity to invest in his career. Limited to one thousand members at a cost of $100. In just four months the site generated over four hundred members - enough to fly members of the band to LA and record a record. (the oppurtunity to invest is ongoing until we reach one thousand members).

Crighton begun recording the record with producer Mikal Blue late last year. The bulk of the recording come from Clint and his band - Luke Crighton (bass), Dale Allison (guitars) and Sam McNally (keys). However, the record also had some special guests - Alan Bezozi (Drums - Regina Spektor), Greg Suran (Guitar - Goo Goo Dolls, Jewel), Scarlet Rivera (Violin - Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchel). The record is currently being mixed by multi-Grammy award winner Elliot Scheiner (Steely Dan, Toto, Nine Inch Nails, Foo Fighters) and will be released in Australia and the USA later this year.

At 23, living in California, Clint Crighton is continuing to make great strides in his career. He is a firm believer in the over whelming power of music to evolke positive feelings which result in positive action. Despite his youth Crighton has had numerous adventures thanks to the travelling ticket that is his music. Some have been "trying" - On his first trip to LA he was mugged at gun point and then on his second he was forced to stab a gang member in self defense on the way home from a gig. However, Crighton insists the positive far out ways the negative experiences. One of Crighton's fondest experiences was getting to meet Bob Dylan's violinist Scarlet Rivera and having her not only play on the upcoming album, but also play live with him on gigs throughout LA. Scarlet is a huge fan of Clint's music. Another "favourite experience" for Crighton was when himself and his brother Luke were in China, driving back to Shenzhen from a televised festival in Taishan with five chinese musicians none of whom spoke a word of english and none of whom knew how to get back to Shenzhen. Crighton recalls - "We were sitting in the back of the bus, no idea where we were, when the driver decided he knew a short cut and turned off the main highway, next minute we're lost in the middle of nowhere and in what seemed like a village from 1925! It was hilarious".

Crighton now lives in the USA spending most of the time touring.

Lyrics

So High

Written By: Clint Crighton/Dale Allison

Verse 1

Another tide coming in,
said you made it
Another tear from within,
tried to save it
with your bright eyes,
tell me where do i start
to see whats real? what right?
revolutions in time,
as we dance through the hall ways back in time,
to when we knew nothing at all.
Hey....

Chorus

So high, So High, we'll walk until its alright, alright..
find a way out, girl theres no doubt
that i'll walk away with you..

Verse two
Stumbling across a movie screen like your crying,
when every breathe that you take your closer to dyin'
the carnival's gone..
yeah we've moved on,
to a place we can see ourselves moving,
toward the light, of a star that is shooting..
gently close your eyes..gently close your eyes.
Hey..

Chorus

So High, So High, we'll walk until it's alright, alright
Find a way out, girl theres no doubt, that i'll walk away with you

Bridge (instrumental)

Chorus x 2

Unborn

Written By: Clint Crighton/James Sarzotti

Moon rise over my shoulder
Your starry eyes seem so much closer,
theres something out there making me feel so cold.
Lying here am I drunk or sober? the edge of the earth seems so much closer,
I'm holding on but, falling into the sky

CHORUS

You wrap your world around me, all my fears you set free and I am not alone..
Reality comes to meet me, the modern life defeats me and I remain unborn...

VERSE 2

In orion our spirit lies, in my body she will never die.
Once taken, it's so hard to return.
So I take a deep breathe and I close my eyes
As we're catapulted straight across this endless sky,
I find my way forever to you now

CHORUS

BRIDGE

Are you waking?
Are Losing?
Or are you Closer?

CHORUS

END

Four Days

Written By: Clint Crighton

Closing in I see your face,
Pull the sun light over the place you were before in my dreams.
Watch the light coming cross the valley slow,
girl i know we've done things we don't want to know, don't want to talk about
But I know your sleepin' yeah baby I know you're sleepin'

Hey I think it's time we started over,
I think it's time that we said forevers got to change it's point of view.
Hey theres still four days left of summer, make a memory that'll last forever, and i'm still holding you.

You watch the night and i watch you fall asleep.
Another night, another wasted offer of a dream
You said you loved me but i thought you lied.
So take the car come on you know, you know we'll take it slow head up the mountain through the valley to the dessert snow, till we find our way.
And I know your sleepin' yeah baby I know you're sleepin'

CHORUS

Holding you now in the night, take my hand it's time to say goodbye, we've seen love, these people we love....

CHORUS

afraid of feeling love

Written By: Crighton/allison

Watch the snow fall on the street
out of the shadow walk into the light,
whats the chance that we should meet on this night?
you hold the world in your hands, blood stained but pure white
I could be a different man, but it just don't feel right..

If you were not afraid of feelin love
If you were not afraid of feelin love
if you were not afraid of feelin, we could touch and start the healing, i would not be wastin' your time. Your time.

Look around to see the preist
buried bones behind a wooden door
floating down this empty street, like your walking on water
a frozen tear drop on your cheek,
wounded winter wind, chills you, breaks you, keeps you from feeling warm.

CHORUS

AFFECTION

Written By: Crighton, Blue

Theres a war going on
inside of your head
mixed up, depressed and still gettin' fed
Money driven lies, marketing plans, children on the street without food in their hands.

They got nothin'

Mr Mr tell me all about it, government crime come on people shout it!
Remedy for family workin' so hard is put a dollar in your pocket then put a theif in your yard.
Suicide, Homicide, modified drugs, Children dream and man it's never enough
Minister, senator feed me no fear. It's time for a solution.

CHORUS

What we need is affection
What we need is conneciton
What we need is a change of heart
What we have is eachother
What we don't have is forever
What we need is a changer of heart

Mama workin' days, mama workin nights, her baby's growing up and it don't seem right.
Promises made, money to be paid.
On the way to work she is the radio say "taxes goin up!, bombs blowin up!"
only thing goin down is our right to speak up
about climate change, earth rearrange - "show me the money boy"
their singin' "show me the money"

CHORUS

Bridge

Don't tell me baby that theres no where we can go,
And don't tell me Mr that there's things we shouldn't know
And don't tell me baby that there's no way we can work it out....

Chorus x 2

We Changed the World

Written By: Clint Crighton(70) /Dale Allison (25) /Luke Crighton(5)

V1
We strung out across the desert,
held hands in the shape of a heart.
Somewhere lost in translation,
spoken in the dark.
If I knew which way was summer, I'd know where to end..it all my friend.

V2

We touched down in a hazy city
flags of fortune flyin' high
pretty girls they were dancing,
must've been the month of July.
And if i had my time in "Eden", would i make the same mistakes? again, my friend.

CHORUS

We Changed the world
but no one was watchin'
We Changed the world
We changed the world
But no one was watchin and..
Love is all we had.

V3
Faded photo's on a memory,
in picture perfect harmony.
Soldiers marching cross the pavement, where paradise used to be.
And if Jesus is my homeboy, the devils my brother "joe".
Hong Kong harbour, New York City, take a flower San Fransisco.

CHORUS

BRIDGE

So hold me in the dark
Make a cradle in your arms
Keep me close, so you don't see me goin' away

CHORUS

OUTRO VERSE
We strung out across the desert
Held hands in the shape of a heart
somewhere lost in translation.

Angels at 5am

Written By: Clint Crighton

Light lasts only seconds then it fades,
its the color of jade that makes her return.
White daffodils line the path she takes, the ground it breaks at the touch of her hand.
A ghostly figure through the valley deep, the beast it sleeps awoken by fear.
An angel cries, she begins to weep at the sound of her innocence falling four floors to the street.

ANGELS CALL, ANGELS CRY I STILL LOVE YOU
TAKE MY BODY TAKE MY LIFE
I STILL LOVE YOU FOR ALL TIME

I feel her getting a lettle closer to herself, as she feels alone in this living hell.
And if I were and Island then she would be the sea, with every wave pulling her closer to me.

ANGELS CALL, ANGELS CRY, I STILL LOVE YOU
TAKE MY BODY TAKE MY LIFE I STILL LOVE YOU FOR ALL...

Move me break me tell me it's over,
Drift in slowly to the night, night, night.

ANGELS CALL ANGELS CRY I STILL LOVE YOU,
TAKE MY BODY TAKE MY LIFE, I STILL LOVE YOU FOR ALL..

ANGELS CALL, ANGELS CRY I STILL LOVE YOU,
TAKE MY BODY TAKE MY LIFE, I STILL LOVE YOU FOR ALL TIME.

Light lasts only seconds then in fades the color of jade that makes her return.
