The Live From Rehab EP

Clinton Derricks is a man of no ordinary circumstance. Bore from a Stegosaurus fully grown, he crafted his first musical tool from the dinosaur placenta. After losing the wind instrument to a day under the hot sun he was forced to explore the guitar and later the ivories. Spending his adolescence trapped in a realm of suburban fear, the young composer found solace in his music, which seemed to be headed in an unfamiliar direction. Confused and overwhelmed by the decision to follow the path which most call a definite disappointment and a tragedy, after 20 earth years Clinton set out to capture his place in history.

Now after four orbit cycles of generating energy and inspiration from his hometown of Los Angeles, California, Derricks has surfaced with his debut provision of passion and sweet ass noise, The Live From Rehab EP. The four-song demonstration is an original piece of what the artist is calling Alternative pop, an organic blend of hip-hop, rock, pop, and a taste of classical accompanied by aggressive yet alluring lyrics.

Coming out of the gate with the single “Sex & Violins”, the style is clear after the first verse/chorus. A song about guilty pleasures and consumerism, the material bounces back from humor to self-revelation that hits relevant, becoming the very thing it seemed to scorn.

If Clinton has not found his place in modern entertainment, he has definitely created one. With an industry in a perpetual downward spiral, and a powerful nation in distress, history tells us that there are those few who rise to the challenge to offer the salvation of change. Change to those in desire for excitement and reasons to evolve, an offer that intrigues the masses and invites freedom, the freedom to break through. Clinton Derricks may very well be that change. In the Spring of 2009 Clinton began touring with DJ T-Rose as "Live From Rehab"
