Wednesday 29th July 2015: Opened for Spandau Ballet at The Pacific Amphitheatre at Orange County Fairgrounds to 18,000 people introduced by Richard Blade.
Come encore time, Spandau Ballet delivered the epic grandeur of “Through the Barricades,” which Hadley described as “a real Romeo and Juliet love story.” He sang it with dramatic gestures and Kemp capped it off with an amazing weepy guitar solo. They finished with an ebullient electric reprise of the smash “Gold.”
Opening the show was SiriusXM 1st Wave/Jack FM deejay Richard Blade, who tested the audience’s knowledge of 1980s lyrics for concert tickets and seat upgrades. He also surprised people by bringing out When in Rome’s Clive Farrington to sing his 1988 dance chart topper “The Promise.”
Albums: ‘When In Rome’ recorded at the Powerplant, London UK with producer Ben Rogan who had just completed the Diamond Life (as engineer) album for Sade with Robin Millar. Vocals completed at Linford Manor, Milton Keynes, UK. A further 3 tracks were recorded with Richard James Burgess at Hollywood Studios, Pasadena and Sound Control, Santa Monica. Michael Brauer and I mixed the album at Quad Studios New York.

2011 – Successful summer tour of the USA with A Flock of Seagulls, Berlin, Gene Loves Jezebel, Animotion, Bow Wow Wow and Boys Don’t Cry on the Lost 80’s Tour.
2012 – Successful summer tour of the USA with A Flock of Seagulls, Escape Club, Gene Loves Jezebel, Animotion, Boys Don’t Cry and Motels on the Lost 80’s Tour.
2013 - Successful summer tour of the USA with A Flock of Seagulls, Animotion, Bow Wow Wow, Naked Eyes, John Waite on the Lost 80’s Tour. Headline at Hangar 27, Tijuana, Mexico. Wrote a song called ‘Stripped’ with Mexican Mega Star, Aleks Syntek for forthcoming ‘Legends’ album. Opened for Erasure, Howard Jones, Men Without Hats, and Flock of Seagulls to sell out crowd of 20,000 at Palacio de Desportes, Mexico City. Co-wrote main theme ‘Glittering Heights’ with Aleks Syntek for forthcoming movie ‘El Americano’.
2014 – One month Tour of the Philippines – When In Rome.
Sang ‘The Promise’ live at a special showing of ‘Napoleon Dynamite’ at the Castro Theatre, San Francisco with lead actor Jon Heder in attendance.
Met with the cast and crew of the movie ‘Napoleon Dynamite’ at LACMA, Bing Theatre, CA on the 10-year anniversary special blu ray showing.
