Bio

When a previous band became stagnant through heartbreak and boredom, Clubs became a rebound for a group of thumb twiddling individuals, who had become lost in what seemed to be a bottomless pit of reminiscence, regret and what could have been. The group spawned through the willingness and patience to create sounds and a sheer love for music and each other. Closing themselves off in a three month bubble of creativity, the ambition became a reality. The prospect of a debut EP became real and began taking shape. Over cocktails and G&T the band settled on a name, a Title and a tracklist.

Clubs debut EP, Velvet, comes with somewhat of an enigma surrounding its release and the group themselves. From nowhere, it seems CLUBS have sprung up, with a demo of the ‘progressive, moorish and unusual ’ song Other, appearing on Soundcloud at the beginning of 2013. The music, which has always seemed to come together with ease and fluidity, draws you in and leaves you hanging on for the next riff, fill or lyric. With peculiar melodies and rolling, reverb bathed guitar parts, the four tracks on Velvet build you up, bring you down and take you everywhere in between. The EP is sure not to disappoint and ‘Big things’ are expected of a band who have, and always will be grounded, overwhelmed and excited by the smallest of things. Clubs have recently received press from Dean Jackson of BBC introducing who described the first track off the EP, Other as ‘Very Strong’ and says Clubs have a ‘Great sound.’ Clubs have also been placed into Arts In Leicester’s new bands of 2013.

Looking to get on the road and into peoples ears throughout 2013, Clubs are a band who always have a tale to tell. There’s nothing more exciting than new music and Clubs could be at the forefront of the Leicester scene, which at this moment in time is on the rise. But maybe needs something like them, to help it on it’s way. With the right opportunity and backing 2013 could be a huge year for the band.
