Biography

Born & raised in New York City, Manhattan's Lower East Side. CM is into all types of music. His parents are of Hispanic decent but they loved all vibes of music. The DJ's & break dancers at the local block parties introduced Hip-Hop to him at an early age. At the age of 13 he would develope his writing through poetry. At 16, he started transforming his poetry into rhymes over Hip-Hop beats. Artist such as Gangstarr, Common Sense, The Roots, Wu Tang Clan, Pete Rock & CL Smooth became his template. Recording over dirty cassette tapes with his older brother was the only way he could showcase his skills. It wasn't until he moved to Maryland that he was able to get into a studio & spit over beats designed for him. Over the last few years, CM has put out his Classic Material series (up to Vol. 3) where people can download it for free to hear that throwback vibe of Hip-Hop. CM continues to Create Music for those who search for quality music.

Lyrics

The Cycle

Written By: C. M. Lugo

Sometimes I have to laugh to stop me from crying
Cosmetically, the block change, but there still be violence
The war on drugs still going on, corners still pumping strong
Money still being made, lives still being lost
The warzone got casualties who just broke out of their teens
Slayed on their own homecourt or battles overseas
Representing the home team, salute them kids
You can’t put a price tag on a life of your kins
While we continue to live, either stronger or broken
We’re hoping, welcome home is the words that are spoken
To all the survivors who return safely from hell
Whether it’s from the desert landscape or from the penitentiary cells
Some return to the fire & brimstone for a visit
Others, forever in it, while others refuse to relive it
Sighting their sights on the most high, dedicating life
To shed the darkness, helping other avoid the strife

I can’t help but see that the more things change
The more things remain the same
I know we’re surviving, but more keep dying
We all dealing with the pain
So what we gonna do….
What are we gonna do…
What about you….
So what are you gonna do…

As a grown man, I’m still dream chasing, with no end in sight
So I won’t stop till I achieve what I thought I might
I always felt I had to steez to go & rock the mic
Move crowds with ease, spit truth from what I learn, whether wrong or right
I made choices I would change if I had the chance
But then I wouldn’t learn the lesson from that exact circumstance
I wouldn’t be where I’m at, not guaranteed the alternate path
Would lead to something better or dealing with a different wrath
I consider me blessed, to still have the opportunity
To be put in a position where I’m still able to just do me
And not be, changing my whole character
To survive, some people become permanent actors
My soul still intact, I’m still the same as I ever was
Still down to earth, I was never known to hold a grudge
And ever since birth, the hour glass slowly counts down
And time is running out, so I gotta make moves right now

I can’t help but see that the more things change
The more things remain the same
I know we’re surviving, but more keep dying
We all dealing with the pain
So what we gonna do….
What are we gonna do…
What about you….
So what are you gonna do…

Justice For All

Written By: C. M. Lugo

Ambush the booth, verse full of stress
Voice full of pain, beat bust through ya chest
Hell yeah, we want it all and not a penny less
Live it up good, no time to struggle like the rest
This one here’s official & I aint talking about a ref
Time to beat this in folks brains especially those who slept
Quietly I creep, now I dwell in the depth
Serving the unaware with Piz the chief
Time to quake the landscape & break ya mind state
Liberate myself from these shackles & test fate
Running with these jackals, planning our great escape
Gotta keep it moving, time won’t allow us to wait
Miss ya chance if you’re late, count down by seconds
Always keep an ace, brain’s the most lethal weapon
Spitting words like ammunition, then keep it stepping
New alias be C4, exploding in every session

We gonna rise till we fall, grind till we ball
Fight our way out to get our backs off the wall
Whatever it takes, achieve more than what we saw
When we hit rock bottom, this be the level we on
Gotta break the cycle, go way beyond
In these desperate times gotta tell the devil be gone
Learn your rights from your wrongs, unite for the cause
We strive all along, this is justice for all

I got it, yes we got
To get where we from to where we at, we plotted
Been slipping thru the radar, now we’re spotted
Once the movement is moving, no way to stop it
You can try to block it, but unsuccessfully
When it’s grind time you gonna see the best in me
Cause I believe in myself, not destiny
Piz cooking up this hotness, no recipe
If you’re not part of the solution then you a problem
Air waves stay polluted, aye who can stop ‘em
Give me a beat, plus a pen & a pad
And I’ll create a hot verse off the first rough draft
Then I break it down like mathematics
Keep feeding yall these flaming bangas, you can call it a habit
Providing ya the goods, just reach out & grab it
Hanging on every word like my flows were fabric

We gonna rise till we fall, grind till we ball
Fight our way out to get our backs off the wall
Whatever it takes, achieve more than what we saw
When we hit rock bottom, this be the level we on
Gotta break the cycle, go way beyond
In these desperate times gotta tell the devil be gone
Learn your rights from your wrongs, unite for the cause
We strive all along, this is justice for all

It don’t take but a millisecond to spark action
Display these steez that others just be lacking
If you aint with us, I suggest you start packing
This is not a threat, this is full blown passion
I eat up true Hip-Hop like it was rations
Give a big salute to all of those that been smashing
Reveal to all, every track I’ve been stashing
The lab got the antidote that others been asking for
Let me know if you want some more
I’ma whip up something lovely you can’t find in stores
You gotta dig deep, explore through parts unknown
Take it to the underground, past the grime & stones
To a place where CM calls home, Hip-Hop I need it
For those who got hunger for that true, I’m gonna feed it
And all of your hopes & goals, you got to believe it
Why even dream it if you’re not planning to achieve it

We gonna rise till we fall, grind till we ball
Fight our way out to get our backs off the wall
Whatever it takes, achieve more than what we saw
When we hit rock bottom, this be the level we on
Gotta break the cycle, go way beyond
In these desperate times gotta tell the devil be gone
Learn your rights from your wrongs, unite for the cause
We strive all along, this is justice for all
