Bio

C-Monk, an Orlando based artist who has been repping the hip hop scene for about twelve years. Well known for his high energy stage performance, this artist is on his way to a promising future in the music industry. Born Vaughn Mckenzie in Kingston Jamaica, raised in East Flatbush, Brooklyn, New York. C-Monk started beatboxing as his first craft of hip hop, which led him to lyricism. Influenced by the older children in his Brooklyn neighborhood, at the age 9 was introduced to another element of hip hop, freestlying. Predetermined to be the next emcee to rise, monk made it his destiny to follow and pursue his dreams as hip hop artist. In the spring of 1989 C-Monk moved to Orlando, FL, were he continues on his hip hop journey. Despite the base music movement and the lack of hip hop resources at the time, C-Monk still kept his West Indian and East Coast influences abroad. After graduating from high school in 1995, monk earned him a track Scholarship to Appalachian state University, in Boone, North Carolina, where was studying chemistry for a year. C-Monk mad a decision that he wanted to pursue a career in film making. So He moved back to Orlando were continued on his film studies where he earned him A.S degree film& video and a B.S in business admistration at Florida Metropolitan University. In 2000 monk had teamed up with his close friend Les deal and formed a group call Nu-Ridians, who mad an impressive mark in the Orlando sconce for three years gained some recognition, with a successful group LP release in may of 2003, and who was also nominated for the Florida Grammy last. Now that monk is releasing his upcoming LP The who I am dropping mid-summer, and with his single Get Down, Get Down, get some street and mix tape buzz, the anticipation his album will well worth listening to when its release. The once Sony record signee definitely deserve another shot of major deal again. This kid is true and will be soon.
