"Barfly: Coastl"

I'm slowly becoming a fan of electronic dance music. I know I'm risking having my punk rock card revoked, but I can't help getting sucked in by a happy dance groove.

COASTL are at the top of the original dance music food chain right now. They're really good. I feel like something started a few years ago with Audiodacity and Breakdown Kings. They showed there was a thirst for original dance music. COASTL takes the surface they scratched and exploded it into a million pieces.

If you watch the Electric Daisy Carnival Movie on Netflix, it'll give you a taste for the potential of this music. Come out to Radio Radio Friday night for THE DANCE PARTY with Zoo Trippin, COASTL, and Dell Zell. This'll be the most fun you've had with your clothes on all year.

Bio

COASTL is an electronic dance trio that emphasizes a strong vocal presence, disco bass riffs, and space-pop synthesizers.   They believe in high-octane live shows, and always try to one up the last...which caused them to acquire lasers.  https://vimeo.com/159995461

They create their music in an industrial warehouse in Fountain Square, Indianapolis.  Landlocked, the band defines COASTL as “where earth’s atmosphere touches space.”

COASTL embraces an adventure party lifestyle.  They are avid outdoor enthusiasts.  It is not uncommon to catch lead singer Breck Nilsson throwing 20 foot backflips on skis.  Dancing is a must in all situations.  Epic performances are given on and off stage.  It was dancing energy that landed COASTL an early gig opening up for Panic! At the Disco.

Buffalo Trucker studied music at the Conservatory of Recording Arts and Sciences.  He is proficient in sound engineering, piano, and guitar.   Breck convinced Buff over drinks at the Happy Gnome in Minneapolis to collaborate long distance toward the end of 2012.  Buff moved to Indianapolis in 2014 allowing COASTL to evolve from side project to main source of joy and excitement.

Bass player Chuck Harness picked up bass guitar at the age of 5.  He has performed with multiple bands and toured nationally.  He met Breck Nilsson through an online band dating website in 2011, a nonsexual romance ensued, and the two have been in bands together ever since.

When asked why they spell the name without the “a” at the end, Buffalo Trucker stated, “It's aesthetically more pleasing...plus, we spell it like people say it."
