Bio
Cocoa Majestic are a band that was bred from diversity. It originated as a three piece in an old garage where school mates having a jam at ridiculous volumes was the only aim. Steadily things grew with the addition of a forth member. Suddenly, unexpectedly, a three piece jam on a Wednesday night became a four piece practise and the garage was no longer going to suffice. The main focus from the beginning was to make completely original music and explore what teenagers with budding musical ambitions could do with some freedom. Eventually gig opportunities arose and things suddenly seemed serious, nonetheless the challenge was met head on and a live performance needed shaped. Feedback from the first gigs told us that a singer was required, this warranted the addition of a much needed, much anointed singer in the form of a Miss Katy Gilchrist; accompanied by Stuart McLachlan on lead guitar, Liam Gallagher on Rhythm, Blair Young on Bass and Josh Gilbert on Drums Cocoa Majestic took its current, and final, form. Two years on and we have finished our second E.P. and continue writing for a third, plus with additional songs for live performances we're never in short supply. Also, carefully selected cover songs have been chosen to further hone the live experience in order to demonstrate every aspect of our musical influences and every acknowledgement to the ones who gave it. We have a fire in our belly and something about the Highlands makes the blood boil faster and we're more than ready to let it loose in a bigger setting. This opportunity would provide us with a chance to fully explore what it means to play "live" and it would give us the space to really play around with what we all truly love to do.
