"Your hard working cure for a hundred pretentious man-and-an-acoustic guitar shows. If you haven't caught this local act yet, you're missing out. Energy to spare, and some good, honest muscle without all the flexing in the mirror." - "Can't Get There From Here"
"Conversely, the most notable aspect of Codename Boris, another brotherly trio, might be Andy (guitar) and Davy (bass) Pasternak’s distant relation to Russian author Boris Pasternak. The trio’s eponymous five-song debut shows promise in the Queens of the Stone Age-esque “The Fire”, but they haven’t even scratched the surface of their potential." - The Austin Chronicle
"...wonderful...a great listen." - earphoria.fm

Bio
Emerging from the renowned indie rock scene in Austin, Texas, codename Boris is independent rock, in every sense of the word. The trio has spent the last two years working through the local music scene, polishing their performance and gaining momentum.
The band originated from the minds of brothers Andy and Davy Pasternak, whose loose relation to famed Russian author Boris Pasternak drove the name of the band. The pair took Boris for their namesake and strove to create unique and interesting music together. With the addition of drummer and friend, Thomas Leisering, the trio was complete.
Stylistically codename Boris lies somewhere in the current rock spectrum between new wave and hard rock. Influenced by various styles, including rock, punk, pop, jazz and blues, codename Boris has found their own distinct sound that attracts a range of different tastes.
Each member brings something unique to the band’s overall style. Melodic vocals, blues-influenced guitar, fluid bass riffs and driving rhythms are blended to yield a diverse but complementary set of well-crafted songs.
Codename Boris recently finished recording their first, self-titled EP. With this milestone the burgeoning independents hope to open more doors and stages to showcase their devotion and skill.
