Bio
Code Rad breaks away from the mold of typical ska-punk bands, as we incorporate elements of various other musical genres such as swing, jazz, funk, and hard rock in such a way that our music is always unpredictable, yet catchy and fun. We feature a prominent horn section and love to get the crowd pumped up and dancing to the music. Our influences include Sublime, Streetlight Manifesto, Reel Big Fish, Mad Caddies, and Blink-182 as well as many others.
I started Code Rad to play shows for campus events at local college in Waltham and not much else. Then we randomly received an invitation to open for one of my favorite underground ska-punk bands from Ireland at a venue in Harvard Square, and after a fantastic show, we decided we wanted to broaden our horizons and play for bigger and better shows. We just released a two-song demo and while we're new to the Boston scene, we're looking to make a big splash.
