Two Lane Highway

Two Lane Highway
Oct. 6 2006

These four men were all different in there own little way
They loved to get together party, sing and play
So they went on the road like a bunch of outlaws
They sung and played every song without any flaws

One likes to sing about the road and whiskey river
One was a helicopter pilot, death he did deliver
Singing “ Just the Good ‘ol Boys,” one is known for
One sung in prisons for boys who weren’t good no more

They were outlaws some couldn’t understand
But they put together one hell of a band
They picked and sang and even acted a little crazy
They had such a good time that some shows are a little hazy

They were the Highwaymen
A four lane Highway then
They were the Highwaymen
We’ll never see them again

Willie’s still playin his hands are gettin old
It’s hard to play sometimes but his words are still bold
Kris still shows up from time to time
But we all know he’s no longer in his prime

Then Waylon had to leave us one day
We really miss seein’ that outlaw play
Then we found out that Johnny’s gone too
Kris called Willie, “Buddy it’s just me and you”

They were the Highwaymen
A four lane Highway then
They were the Highwaymen
We’ll never see them again

They were the Highwaymen
A four lane Highway then
They were the Highwaymen
A highway that will never be paved again

Pretty Boy Cowboys

Written By: Cody Alexander

Pretty boy so called cowboys, what’s deal with these guys
Dolled up and prancing on stage, you know the real cowboys despise
Most of them wear makeup and have manicured hands
None of them understand real cowboy and outlaw bands

Pretty Boy Cowboys
What’s the deal
Pretty Boy Cowboys
They’re just tryin to keep it real

Where are the wranglers, do they even own a cowboy boot
These pretty boy cowboys are just in it for the loot
They sing songs that will make a teenage girl’s heart melt
Sing one about a real woman who’s been through it all and how she felt

Pretty Boy Cowboys
What’s the deal
Pretty Boy Cowboys
They’re just tryin to keep it real

They get on stage and have to keep their long hair out of their face
How about a cowboy hat or a bandanna in Willie’s case
I miss the old days when men acted like men
These pretty boy cowboys, well they don’t remember when

Pretty Boy Cowboys
What’s the deal
Pretty Boy Cowboys
They’re just tryin to keep it real

Pretty Boy Cowboys
What’s the deal
Pretty Boy Cowboys
They’re just tryin to keep it real

Eddy Joe Who

Written By: Cody Alexander

Bought a truck on the spur of the moment
Had to find a driver someone who didn’t own it
Started making calls and thought I found a winner
He was an old cowboy definitely not a beginner

He started out like a free sprit in the wind
I was worried about money then it started rolling in
He told me he had a dream and I thought he was crazy
Being on the road so much can make things a little hazy

Who the hell is Eddy Joe Neal
I’ll never know but Nashville soon Will
Who the hell is Eddy Joe Neal
I’ll never know but Nashville soon Will

He did his job well he drove that truck like a hog
He worked so hard he was panting like a dog
Then One day he said he had to go
He was headin to Nashville God bless his soul

Who the hell is Eddy Joe Neal
I’ll never know but Nashville soon Will
Who the hell is Eddy Joe Neal
I’ll never know but Nashville soon Will

I haven’t heard from that old cowboy in a while
I knew he would never sell that smile
But to my surprise I read about him in the paper
They said he had all the skills of a maker.

Who the hell is Eddy Joe Neal
I’ll never know but Nashville soon Will
Who the hell is Eddy Joe Neal
I’ll never know but Nashville soon Will
